After that week at Disneyland and free lightsabers, they pushing you to drum up more sales now? How could anyone be at peace with themselves and think they're doing good by pushing disney star wars like its a good thing?!! Here's a free idea... how about make a star wars game based on an alien (selectable?) character?!!! I don't wanna be in the star wars universe playing as some "strong female type" or the ginger from Shameless... I want to play as one of a selectable group of aliens and learn their history and back story.
It is one of the most definitively 7/10 games ever to exist. 5/10 if you're not into Star Wars. Which sucks, because I was totally on board with the base premise. A more passionate studio could have made something great. Glad I went the sub route; $18 bucks seems about right for the experience I had with it. Quick unsolicited advice to anyone that hasn't figured it out, yet: Don't ever buy the $100+ version of a game, especially if early play is the lure. Even if this was the game you were waiting for all your life, you waited this long; a few more days won't hurt. See this early access stuff for the cynical cash grab that it is. Heck, spend that 30-50 bucks you saved on something else on those days you wait.
you are crazy missing the point, who cares for co-op...that was never the issue here. the game is...just good. But yes, it does feel like its missing a lot of potential. It could have been so much more. there was never any interest in a predetermined out-law character so of course there was lackluster interest. I'll also add, no matter what stupid focus groups say...most gamers WANT the force user experience from a SW game. Any game that ignores that basic fact, will under achieve.
Getting bored of reading about all the negatives. It was a fun game to play for me. The serious flaws are there for sure and the game could have been so much better. They shouldn't have released it in this state. If you are a Star Wars fan, particularly of the originals this is the best game for exploration in the Star Wars universe bar none and is way more ambitious than most other Star Wars titles. The locations and attention to detail to factions, races, creatures and the lore is all there an lovingly recreated. I finished the main story and enjoyed the experience enough that I am going back in and finishing the main faction quests that I missed. This seems to be where a lot of the coolest stuff resides.
I played it on Ubisoft + but couldn’t finish it and canceled. It felt like the game was purposefully trying to waste my time. The story seemed bland and the quests were ridiculously obvious padding quests. One quest you have to find another mechanic instead of the mechanic you already have to upgrade your speeder in order to upgrade your ship… like what? Also it is Star Wars… way more fun with space magic and laser swords.
The problem I have with multiplayer games is that you can't play them years later for nostalgia's sake. Once the game loses popularity and no one is playing it, it's dead. Gone forever. I do like that this game is single-player.
Nobody wanted a stealth Star Wars game with no recognizable characters, Jedi, Sith or even Mandalorians. They made a game for nobody and nobody bought it 😂😂😂
Enjoying the game, I play what is given and not what I dreamed about. So much details, so much Star Wars. I simply don't get that those who say they are Star Wars fan and gamers to not like this game. Could something be different YES for sure but I'm a 52yr old gamers and there isn''t a game I thought "well if they done this it would even be better" no game is perfect, but find your nichy or just enjoy what is given has made my games so much more fun to play.
Well, selling a million isn't bad per say. But pretty underwhelming for a Ubisoft game. But I really wish people didn't pass up Visions of Mana so much for this.
I can only speak for myself but I have nil interest in any sort of co op game. I don't think Outlaws did poorly because it lacked co op, I think it did poorly because the people have lost interest in the franchise as a whole. Disney have gone above and beyond in their attempts to turn even their most loyal fans away.
I'm one in a million and I really liked the atmosphere, hidden details and the worldbuilding in general. There's a lot to like and I didn't had any bugs whatsoever except for one time when Kay was sitting a little awkward on her speeder. Getting off and back again solved the "issue". It's not the most challenging game for sure but I've been well entertained.
The stealth is just so embarrassing for the company who made assassin's creed. I was like sure a space adventure with the people who made assassin's creed maybe fun. It was a disappointment for me. There is a potential in the game but they need a lot of work. Truth be told they should not of shipped it in this state.
I completely disagree with it not having co-op being the main issue. Boring story and gameplay i would say is. Have loved the single player jedi survivor series and being 100% offline
It's a good thing for the industry. It really is. Passionate developers still make great games, and the contrast is making "good enough" not enough, anymore. They need to step up or step out.
I knew it was gonna be crap. They need to make a star wars game like this where you can create your own character and add co-op and not rush it. I can't recall the last character I actually liked in a game in years besides Arthur Morgan.
They should have also given more gameplay options than stealth person with a single blaster. This is the Star Wars universe and they picked the lamest character archetype.
You're misjudging the Star Wars audience. These are not the younger people with way too much time on their hands to commit full 20+ hours campaigns on appointment coop. These are older people with busy jobs and busy family lives (and even beyond that) that can spend an hour or so here and there at their leisure. They want to spend a good story on their own and in their own tempo and can't be bothered to set up multiplayer every time. Focussing your campaign on coop only is generally a bad idea in gaming to begin with. Campaigns are relatively expensive to develop so if you go that route, you want to catch that single player audience. Especially with a Star Wars franchise.
@@TheHQGaming Sure it is and I certainly don't dismiss coop. It can be a lot of fun. But it wouldn't have saved this game. For that you need to execute single player well first.
I did not buy this game for a few reasons. First for an open world you want a character that you can adjust on every level. Species, gender, clothes everything. I would want a spaceship that I can make my “home” and adjust during game by buying or finding things I would like to adjust or add. Open world to me means totally free. And not all those jump walls kinda missions. But stealth and shoot missions. I am never gonna buy this game.
Not sure who it is... Lucasfilm or Ubi but yes someone DEFINTIELY does not know how to "read the room" as you put it. It was very obvious what Star Wars fans wanted and the sales numbers clearly reveal this wasn't it... don't get me wrong, there is still a lot I enjoy and love about Star Wars Outlaws but man this just could've been SOOOOO much more.
I have a strong opinion on don't, but I'll play devil's advocate and say give it a few months and get it at a discount if you still want it. People will say it's not that bad but people will also say it's unplayable at the end of the day it's your choice.
I don’t think it’s a bad game. I think it’s a good game that no one wanted. Too much awesome Star Wars lore and history to still be explored, but making up some new crap with new characters isn’t compelling right now. imagine this game and living the underworld but starting The Mandalorian. Would have sold like hot cakes and still fit pretty well.
I really wanted to like this. It was different, I hadn't played a lot of AC so stealth games were kinda new to me. I love SW. It's open world. It felt like it was going to be fun. But so many things didn't work and I just kept getting frustrated and not entertained, and when the main campaign was done I didn't care enough to finish the remaining quests. I won't get the DLC. There's just too much to address for it to be worth it. It felt like a 10 year old game that was actively trying to make you hate it.
I am playing God of War Ragnarok right now, and I can't help to think in Star War's games... First in Fallen Order/Survivor, game that copies A LOT of things of God of War (badly copied). God of War Ragnarok is massive compared to the previous GOW. HUGE. There's so many new stuff and bigger secondary and optional missions/content. The kind of huge that could be annoying to do. Like the annoying it was in Jedi Survivor, with BOOOOORING missions with BOOOORING content. But in GOW you easily notice the real love the developers has in their game. IT'S SO WELL DONE... Every new mission it's a new experience. Every new fight is different to the others. Every new weapon, skill or improvement is exciting.... Every new scenario is amazing. Every new story is well written. And well, NO WOKE STUFF AT ALL in a game of 2024 (2022 really) Sometimes you think, like everything else, that games trend to be worse than before, it's normal. But then you play a Red Dead Redemption 2, a God of War or a Metro Exodus, and you discover that's a lie. It still can be done. Even games like the surprising "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy" has more soul than current Star Wars games. I miss you Kyle Katarn... Starkiller 😭
Yeah, I wish they would bring back Galen Marek. Imagine a Starkiller game with the budget this game had... Shame it will always only be in our imagination.
@@bluuowl3325 A while ago I've read something that makes complete sense: Disney is the owner of Star Wars, and they can use every character or creation of George Lucas, BUT if they use something created by Lucas before, they are forced to pay royalties to Lucas, and with new characters, music, planets, etc, they don't. So that's why Disney wants more Kylo Ren and less Darth Vader. More Rey and less Luke, and more Cal Kestis and less Starkiller, more Mandalorian and less Clone Wars.
Hard to imagine them pulling a Cyberpunk 2077 turnaround on Outlaws. It's a game no one was asking for, set during a timeline period fans are tiring of.
Do I have time to play many video games? No. Do I have $ to buy many video games? Not really. Given that, why would I buy an ehhhh level game? Im sure it has some decent things in it. It is Star Wars so Im sure Id love the setting. But, for me to part ways with my $ for games now a day a game has to be a full game right away, not have crap locked behind pre orders or mandatory DLC, and be just as fun playing in 15-30 minute chunks as it would be in 3-4 hour chunks. And, this just isn’t it. Making a game that looks and sounds like Star Wars just doesn’t do it. You need the good game portion. My son gets 80% of my non work time. I have a back log of shows, movies, and games to last me until Im 70 years old. It should have always been like this, but games now need to deserve my $. Gone are the days of just having $ to buy games and just hope they are good. Cool trailers, graphics, and sound no longer get my $. And I am kinda ashamed there was a time that those tactics once worked on me.
