Great stuff. It isn't just Ulysses that yeilds reward..I managed to walk from the bridge pub in Chapelizod, from "A Painful Case" , up through the vestibule entrance to Pheonix Park; surmounting the crest of the Magazine Hill, and there was the Wellington Monument, with the hospitable red lights of Dublin in the background. Masterful.

What a wonderful video. I’m finally going to read Ulysses. In preparation ,I’m listening to different lectures on the book. This is one of my favorites- great story, great scenery.
Huge fan of Joyce, huge fan of Ulysses. As an American reader who's never been to Ireland, it's so cool to see the real locations from the book. It actually looks very much like it did in my mind's eye when reading it.
Tuan Jim Lots of activities to see & do on Bloomsday. Guided walks, talks, readings out on the streets. Lots of people walking around in period dress. You can even buy lemon soap in Sweny’s Chemist (itself a kind of museum piece!)
@@johnm2558 I would love to go up inside the Martello tower and then take a leisurely morning stroll on Sandymount Strand. I can almost feel the "mild morning air" now lol.
