Thanks so much for posting these videos! There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think of coming back up . I sailed an I28 for a season out of Boston Harbor. Loved the boat and the sound. Someone showed me an I36 and I knew that was the boat for me. I now have an I36, Moondoggie. I dream everyday about getting back up there. I’m in the SF Bay Area now. I hope to return up there soon via Hawaii. Your videos help me keep the dream alive!⛵️⛵️⛵️
The South Sound is underrated in my opinion. We have been sailing in the PNW for many years and agree that South of the Tacoma narrows there is a different feel. It is more relaxed and beautiful as heck.
Very nice. You re in my old stomping grounds. I lived on Fox Island for 24 yrs. Moved to Mexico in 2018. Sailed Puget Sound for 20 yrs. Filucy Bay was always one of my favorite sailing destinations. Btw...the algorithm sent me this because it knows I'm currently looking for an IF36 in Pacific Mxo. Cheers.
Nice Steve! The Freeport 36 is one of the best boats in it's class. We have sailed ours in 50kts and 20ft breaking seas and she held fast with a bone in her teeth. Are you a member of the Freeport owners group?
Yes it was and our marina has been filling in over the last number of years. 5 years ago I could avoid the bump but now we have to be much more careful
I like how a “balanced decision” was made on how to reopen the island after the 1990 storm 🫡! It’s so beautiful there. And you had it all to yourselves for a little while 👍
We have caught salmon off the west side of Sucia. There is also good crabbing around but since it’s so popular in the summer when the season is open there is a lot of competition.
Still new at editing videos. This is video 4 from our spring trip which we gambled on with the weather and won! Next video will be more sailing and visiting Jones Island where we really benefit from the offseason nature of the trip getting to anchor in the North Cove which is usually full in the Summer.
Lilly (the blind Boston Terrier) has been a boat dog her whole life. She loves the boat. Farley and Betty (the 2 bulldogs) are still new to it. It was Farley's first trip and Betty's second. They don't like sailing much yet but we saw them become increasingly comfortable with it. All the furry crew love the extra attention and walks/beach trips. They love dinghy rides, hate getting in the dinghy, mostly sleep during passages and are living their best life exploring the beach. Our next video is mostly about that stuff since we stay put on Sucia Island for a few days. I have cruised with dogs for 20 plus years and it does add complexity but also so much joy!
Watching from Tunisia =) Just spent the day working on our boat on the hard and now time for some youtubing to relax. Enjoy your sailing and RU-vid journey, really nice video with lots of clips while on the go, well done!
