I grew up in the ‘80s in Bend, OR watching our 1 TV station, WTBS. The Atlanta Braves were my team, and Dale Murphy my favorite player of all time. I played high school, college, a year in Japan, then 17 years in the NABA/MSBL leagues in Portland and San Diego. Thank you, Dale Murphy, for inspiring me as a young ball player and instilling a sense of pride and love for the game that has remained with me ever since. Hats off to you, sir. Legend, indeed.
When is MLB going to wake up and put Ted Turner into the HOF. Baseball owes Ted so much for establishing daily televised games. Today we’re able to watch every baseball game on TV thanks to Mr. Turner. Wake up leadership and put him in the Hall.
"UGA Football Head Coach Kirby Smart with Cellini & Dimino." My BFF for a few minutes Kirby loved Lewis, as did my BFFs for a few minutes Cellini and Dimino. Why can't I get an interview with Kirby or Cellini and Dimino? Lewis says: "Because you are an idiot, that's why."
I sometimes see people criticize him, the truth is the man will not stay this long if he is not competitive !i can tell you Snit is very competitive, if you see his face in the dougout, he is pretty focus and intense until the game is over. The manager job is to manage, from what I see from him throughout the years, his personality of even keel is very important for the team, then every decision according to these guy is a team effort, he says its the entire team in that building to win a world series, AA and his coaching staff and all that, I think he understand it's team work and not ego coaching. Also the man is a good man like all the braves players that they have now. Start with the end in mind, the results will come. This is the team that knows how to do it..
They just released the first episode of the spring training show and Snit pretty much told his players it was WS or bust. He's being a little more diplomatic here but make no mistake, he feels like we do. Can't wait for the season to start. Chop on.
Charley has a head coach mentality, most great players do! MARK MY WORD HE WILL BE A COACH FOR BRAVES EITHER A BASE COACH OR HITTING COACH OR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.
Well said Charley…for a passionate humble man that GOT the short end of the play time his entire career he has stuck with his own plan and excepted it for years who he is and his role, does he deserve more yes ,does he deserve something back from what he’s sacrificed no not in his book and he will tell this.Charley is human in a game that’s so commercially put together around some players that are just over paid and don’t perform, not this Charley you ask he delivers..for a team to ask him to come back home and retire as a role in pitching…well Charley’s 34 not 24 and still hits 94-95 fb with mix pitches and can hit his spots so ,Charley will do well but staying healthy at 34 and throwing ,it’s a matter of howmuch he throws with all the pitchers Braves have now..good luck Charley and hope to meet you one day!
As much as the players do, this guy is the real hero. The contracts the Brave have are insane. Compared to the mets or yankees, the payroll isn't small, but the wins/$ are huge. But man, this interview would have been way better if it weren't done with the stupid "radio talk show" format. That really ruins everything it touches. "radio format" is so bad in terms of what they think they need to do for their audience.
While the Johnson/Hand/Masterboni clip subverted my expectations, this one is a perfect example of the very brief shelflife of a throwaway quip from a 4hr, 5x/wk daily news and current events show. These shorts seem like a better vehicle to reintroduce a reimagined audio/video fun bag so we can also see the gaffs in stunning high resolution.
Ok, I will admit it. I did not think there was any point of memorializing a few seconds of a 3+ hour show that happens every weekday, but that was amusing.
