Evade, Guarding with Gunlance its practically no worthy. Unlike Lance, the shield of Gunlance has practically no use, yes, you can build guard 5 and guard up to it but practically evading will be much better than guarding.
As someone who mained gunlance since MHFU, I am inspired but at the same time frustrated that I have never mastered the weapon to this level. In fact, Rajang was the monster that made me switch my main from Gunlance to Sword and Shield.
One of those videoes where you think "hey thats cool, let me just hop into a gunlance run into furious Rajang and do the same thing" and proceed to chug mega potions every 10 seconds
Idk man, the thought of "let me just do this real quick" did not ONCE cross my mind while watching. This run looks like the result of hundreds of hours of pain. lol
The back hop really hard to get used to if you never touch GL or lance, its actually what holding me back the most. Im very interested in normal full burst style but i like it better more in GU since the monsters are slower there, means easier to full burstt compared to mhw.
Is it just me or most of the skills you had did nothing for you? Crits and attack increases from my understanding dont apply to shelling and that was the main thing you were doing the whole fight, using the burst to unload a bunch of shells onto the creature.
Hmm, you know, you might be right about that. As a matter of fact, you are right lol. I didn't think about that. He uses wurmstake a LOT, but maybe he already has bombardier and all the stuff to Max out the shells, so everything else went to increasing other damage
The only skills that really boost shell damage are felyne bombardier, artillery, and capacity boost. The crit eye, boost, and agitator are all there for the physical damage. While they do use shells and worms wyrmstake alot, they also use alot of the slam and swing attacks from the GL, as this specific playstyle entails. All of which *do* benefit from raw/crit. Lvl7 Normal shell GL game play involves using the whole weapon as opposed to just shelling, meaning you benefit from all damage increase skills.
