I grew up listening in the 70s Royce Rose feat to me the legendary Gwen Dickey Wishing on a star will be to one of the underrated greatest 70s Soul funk smoove groove classic tracks ever Even in 2024 a timeless masterpiece
It's such a shame that the UK will honor her tremendous talent and the United States has completely forgotten about her. I've been blessed to have listened to her music when it was released. Still, I'm grateful for this video. At 1:53 of this video, the audience begins to sing along with her. That is so touching. I certainly hope and pray Gwen feels the adoration of all her dedicated fans.
I was there, this was a great show it was sponsored by Post Cereal, there was a mobile cereal bar with free milk and 6 kinds of cereals including a vegan one with flax seed. Solid set, they came back out and ended it with a 45 minute encore version of "Wipe-Out" by the Surfaris, which was quite different from the shorter version earlier in the show that had an Afro-carribebean vibe. The house manager had to blink the lights because the party just wouldnt stop. Sister Sledge was mad about not getting to play on time or something. regardless, such a great show, i wish i could see them again live soon.
