"Investment" groups are buying up properties and trying to " Revitalize" Spring Branch....REVITALIZE. SB ALREADY has its own unique fascinating history...having good places to eat is not important to us. Are you serious? We raised our families in this neighborhood when nobody wanted to live here. " Its PROGRESS? "
Tanglewood is my favorite in-town neighborhood. I love the history of the how it was founded, close to St. Michael's Catholic Church on Sage and The Galleria.
I think this is the neighborhood i would pick if i could pick any. I like the trees and the traditional elegance and go to St. Martins church. 😊 Are there plenty of grocery stores, good restaurants and necessity shopping in the area without having to get on freeway's and a lot of traffic?
Absolutely! That's one of the great things about that area. You can access the Galleria area, Memorial Herman Park, The Washington Street restaurant without ever getting on 610 / I10. Are you looking to move?
@@livinginhoustontexasmimsgroup tossing it around. I actually love the classic sprawling one story ranch ( updated ) I saw one online on Holly Springs Dr. Basically across the street from St. Martin's that I loved everything about it! Big corner lot with gorgeous live oak trees! A circle front drive, over 5,000 sq ft all on one level! A little large but loved the established feel it had. I don't want everything looking brand new and stark. That's not me.
I was born in Houston in 72. Grew up in Alief. #numbers and the clubs around there were like my second education...lol...Bought my first Doc's off Westheimer and Montrose . Got all my half sleeve tattoos there as well. Gonna make another trip down there from Dallas to hit numbers again soon.
You certainly can! There are currently 68 Active listings on the mls priced at $375k or under. All are Inside the Loop. Give us a call and we can help you find the right one.
This is wonderful video! Thank U kindly! Planning on moving for retirement next yr. Undecided as to best location for me. Single and retiring. Was planning on Lake Conroe for its beauty and affordability. Looking for a peaceful, friendly, safe, but fun walkable place where I can enjoy walking to different places -- restaurants, shops, events, etc. Not sure if the Heights is in my price range but would like to make contact to see options when I'm ready next yr. I am from out of state. Thanks a million for your friendly and amazing video!
Thank you for the comment Patricia! We would love to help you on your move. We should set up a Zoom meeting to discuss! Just text, call or email and we can coordinate. It's never to early to start planning.
Thank you so very much for another splendid video. Really enjoy all of the excellent information. We are now living in Hampton Virgina and can't wait to return to the Houston Area. Really miss getting stuck in Beltway traffic in the afternoons...!!! 😎😎😎
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! Is the move back a reality or just a dream at this moment? Either way, please reach out to us we would love to help.
Hello, love your page, what do you guys think of Independence heights close to 610? Do you think the area has potential, I can see brand new construction but am not sure about what the future will look like there.
Great question! No one knows the exact future, but the growth in popularity of two neighboring areas (the Heights and Garden Oaks) makes it likely to continue to appreciate. It already has a Whole Foods 360. The major concern with Independence Heights is the flood zone areas. Another area close to there that might give you better return quicker could be Lindale Park. When are you looking to make an investment?
Thank you for sharing this video! The information is helpful, especially the fact that there is public transportation and that 62% are educated. It's important to live around educated people because I have seen the uneducated and unpeaceful people call the cops on people for non-threatening and minor things.
I've been living in Atlanta (both suburbs and city) coming from Houston for 9 months now and I'm literally traumatized with how people drive here. There's a constant need to compete and speed. I see about 3 car accidents every single week. People are highly irresponsable when driving and this never happened in Houston the almost 3 years I lived there. It's such a horrible situation. I'm thinking of going back just because of this!
Wow! What a great perspective! Thank you for sharing. What part of Houston would you want to move back to? When you are getting ready, don't forget to give us a call!
Great video guys. I once lived in League City Texas but never explored the River Oaks area. Looks interesting. Again THANK YOU for this magnificent video !!! 😎😎😎
Y'all are amazing just watch this video and loved your chemistry I live here in Houston and love watching Houston videos and thank you so much for being totally honest because a lot of Realtors are not honest but your video was very honest keep up the good work y'all
I grew up in Spring Brach (lived off Antoine/I-10, then Antoine/Long Point) for middle school, high school, and college years). Just moved back, decades later, to Antoine & 290. I'm ALWAYS off Antoine, lol. I never "wanted to come back" to Spring Branch, but now that I'm back...I'm happy to see how the area has changed but also stayed the same. And yes, I love that it is close to the city.
What a sweet video! Just graduated from Baylor & moving to the heights in July. I was needing a comfort video, this was it!!! So helpful I have so many things to try now!!
Glad RU-vid recommended this. I am currently living in Manvel and looking to relocate back in the city. I use to live in West Houston and loved it, but it’s too far.
Thank you for the lovely comment Shante! We would love to help you so be sure and give us a call, text or email! And please share this video with anyone you think, might find it useful. Thanks again!
Dylan, thank you for the question! We appreciate the engagement. Houston is known as one of if not THE most diverse city in the US. As far as Midtown; here is a great source for more detailed information. bestneighborhood.org/race-in-houston-tx/
Heyy.. how should an international student find accommodation in Texas medical Center , Houston ,Texas ? I got accepted to MD Anderson Cancer Center and will be moving this fall.. It would be great if you could help out!
Thank you so much for your comment! Oddly enough, Spring Branch seems to bring up the most controversy in our comments section. We really like that area and it is highly sought after; price and price appreciation data support our subjective opinion. However, many people who comment express an opinion based on what Spring Branch maybe was and fail to see the transition. Have you seen some of our Spring Branch videos? They go into more specific detail. Are you moving here soon?
@@livinginhoustontexasmimsgroup actually the cold is not that bad. Take into account the air is less dense so temperature doesn't mean as much plus it is dry. 15 degrees in Houston feels far colder than -30 at the top of mt. Elbert. At 14,000 feet it means even less than at 7000. I can tolerate -10 for a while with no gloves and short sleeve shirt if its not windy. At 14000 it was -28 I took my jacket and shirt and gloves off to see what its like. I couldn't feel much of anything.
I collect guns I don't see why that would scare anyone. I have never threatened or pointed a gun at anyone. You don't need gun control you need criminal control. There are also people wanting knife control. I have a switchblade in my tool chest I use for a utility knife. It is a tool I don't see how me having it makes criminals stab.
Thanks for the comment Chad! Houston (and Texas) is very gun (and knife) friendly. It's fine by us, but a lot of people who aren't from here don't realize how prevalent it is in the culture. What is the biggest issue you have with moving to Houston?
Maybe Polis is not as bad as democrats running houston. Sly turnip, judge dora, q-tip, and shelia jackson take the cake. Denver is the worst county in this state and the crime rate for theft and violent crime is several times lower than Harris county.
If you want to pay extra to get taxpayer bashed by that city go live there. They let the homeless run wild and the roads are all tore up and run taxes way up to give free handouts that is taxpayer bashing. I left Texas when I took a job in Colorado Springs but our governor here is a cuckoo. He flaps his hands around and signed a free range parenting law. I reckon he has a wide stance in the bathroom.
Who would have known that Houston has fault lines?! We live in the Heights and there is also a fault line there. When was the last time you experienced a tremor or an earth earthquake?😀
Thanks for the comment Andrea! Has the fault caused any damage to your foundation? Foundations are always a concern around here with the expansive (clay) soils and moisture. What part of Houston are you from?
Thank you for your comments Bessie! We find that Spring Branch is one of those unique communities where people stay and never leave or leave and come back. What’s your favorite part of Spring Branch?
@@livinginhoustontexasmimsgroup Can you recommend a ghettoish part of spring branch if there is one ? I don't like living in quiet, boring places. I like police sirens, loud yellling/cursing, gunshots, street fights, hoes and pimps, and the other jungle ghetto sights and sounds you see. I find it very entertaining.
California (SF Bay Area) couple who will be empty nesting soon. Our kid is going to college in Houston and we thought it'd be cool to live in the same city. Do you recommend urban living in Montrose vs surrounding suburbs like Kingwood, Cypress, Katy, Sugarland, etc.
Hi Ebey! Congrats on achieving empty nester status soon! We just accomplished that milestone earlier this year ourselves. Since you are moving here from the Bay Area, you will likely feel more at home with the rich and diverse culture of Montrose versus the more vanilla suburbs in our opinion. When are you guys thinking about making a move? We would love to help you.
Might be a late reply, but I’ve lived in cypress, sugar land, Richmond/Rosenberg throughout my life. I like those areas a lot. Sugar land, And rose rich are diverse areas and very friendly. Cypress isn’t as diverse, but the people are very nice (I haven’t loved there in 10 years so things might have changed.) but overall I think living in the rose rich/ sugar land area is very nice. Great people.
Thanks for the feedback Ham! Those areas have a lot of wonderful attributes. We LOVE living in the downtown area because there is so much to do and it's close to everything! If you had to live in the suburbs, those are some great ones.
Stafford or Missouri City are in close proximity to Sugar Land that are relatively affordable and accessible to everything. Montrose isn't for everyone. It's better if you visit in person and decide if it's right for you.
Thank you very much for the videos! I am considering moving to Houston, so I am trying to understand the city and its different areas. Would you describe Uptown as one of the safest areas in Houston? Thank you!
That is a great question. We understand that safety is a big concern for anyone moving to a new city. Rather than us giving you our opinion, here is the direct source for Houston’s crime statistics. What draws you to this area? Feel free to give us a call. We would love to help you with your move. www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/index-2.htm
Loved this video. I can see why you and so many people love living in the heights. I think it would be great to attend White Linen Night. Then the art events sound awesome and all the returaunts. I'll be considering a home in the heights! or at least a visit.
That's great! Kerry was the same way for a long time; he's glad to be back. Do you think you'll move back soon? If so, where would you want to live? Have we done a video on the area yet?
Thank you Ruby! We really try to distinguish ourselves through the quality of our information. It's nice to be recognized. What's your favorite video / part of town so far? What video do you want to see next?
@@livinginhoustontexasmimsgroup Now that’s a difficult question; however this million dollar one was amazing. Great information showing such change in the older neighborhoods of Houston. I also really enjoy your interaction with Kerry on all subjects. So, how could I just pick “one best???”
do you guys know which neighborhoods are still affordable yet up & coming? i know eado & northside village are growing, but not sure if there’s any other growing areas near the loop.
Omar, thanks for the question. We really like EADO and Near Northside; we are particularly fond of Lindale Park in Northside because of its large lots, public transportation and deed restrictions. Another area to consider is Independence Heights. Are you looking for an investment or a home?
