Flying, Food, and Fun! I'm a huge aviation geek and enjoy teaching people about flight simulators. I also love to cook and eat. As for fun ... there's too much to summarize in here! I've been interested in flying ever since I got my first computer, a joystick, and Microsoft Flight Simulator (circa 1996). I created a tutorial for Digital Combat Simulator World's free Su25T module here on RU-vid back in 2013 and I got a whole lot of positive feedback. Now I'm continuing to create tutorials for the rest of the DCS World modules as well as various educational videos relating to aviation concepts. In August of 2016 I started training towards my Private Pilot Certificate, I earned it in May of 2017, and now I'm working towards my Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot License (as well as several endorsements). Now my goal is to plan, fly to, and land at every airport in California and hopefully grab some excellent airport restaurant food along the way. Join me for the ride!
In 2024, they’re now asking almost $600 US for these, but I’m still considering it as I HATE the sliding type pedals. I’ve been using a twisty stick for many years.
1:09 Damn it. Nice job on the singing and dubbing, excellent voice, but I praying to find a 2min+ version of this song with the original lyrics (the "cut off your ear" bit, followed by additional lyrics to push it past two minutes). I was _thrilled_ with this video right up til the gasping.
The one annyoing beep I keep hearing whenever I turn on electronics is the stall warning; the respective gauge instantly begins spazzing out, before I've moved one centimeter. At least, I think that's stall-something (the gauge at the top left).
😃 Thank you for letting me take off and fly! - before that I always landed with a left roll into a ground disaster with more or less impressive explosions - with nice things like oxygen and full fuel tanks on board - (as befits a beginner, I suppose ?) - and after following the official tutorial step by step 😅
Hey, sorry if this sounds stupid but im not exactly sure what the home key is on my computer. Im on a windows 11, if there is no home key, if there is any way to customize your engine startup keys, that would be helpful too
I don't control the price, but mine are still going strong! One small issue that was resolved very quickly with a quick email to Support. There are other great options out there that are definitely more budget, friendly; however, I can't say that I would be disappointed in these even if I bought them now. Hope all is well in your world!
Tried some flight sims back in the ‘90s and lost interest due to the learning curve. Fast forward to 2024, I have more patience and thanks to RU-vidrs like Rob, I’m actually learning something this time. Very good series, so far!
Did you set it to "Late Start" or any of the other options? If so, it won't spawn until the time specified. Other than that, I'll need more details on how you placed the object and what its settings are to be able to help.
Rob, this really is the best tutorial series I've ever seen for this simulation. It's designed for absolute beginners like me - clear and simple instructions, no rushing through steps, no assumed previous knowledge of DCS, and no mumbling! You've even included links to the missions for us. Following these and I'm finally getting somewhere now. More of the same please!
It's definitely an alpha so if you're OK with sometimes major game breaking bugs and patches it's such a nice game! I like to zone out and just go mining for ore... quite nice. 🙂
The most common cause I see for this issue is pilots who are using a joystick with a throttle and who don't have the throttle set to idle - as in, all the way back. The engines won't start spooling if the throttle isn't full idle. Otherwise, I'll need more info from you as to what hardware you might be using before I can try to help you in any way.
Sorry to hear about your dad, he was a great man. My family owned Diablo Termite and I grew up kind of like you guys did, always around the business. He even hired me to work one summer cause my uncle didn’t want to pay me more than minimum wage. Just wanted to pay my respects. God bless.
Thanks for the detailed video, it convinced me to invest thrice the money and buy these instead of the Logitech rudders. It's certainly a deep cut, but similar to the Warthog Hotas you get a quality that is on a whole different level and so is the experience and immersion in the game. For decades, I played sims and sci-fi games with my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and while it gives you all basic controls in a neat setup, precision control is not a thing with twist-rudder sticks. Trying to taxi the recently released Messerschmitt BF 109G (MSFS) is next to impossible, as it relies heavily on brakes for turns. Can't wait for these pedals.
Captain, thanks for your tutorial, I have a question, I checked the Thrustmaster TPR, when turning fully to the left and the same to the right, the rudder or the front tire of the plane only turns 10%, what could be happening in my configuration How can you help me?
