What I have seen is a very smart driver that takes advantage of his location on the track and the capabilities of his race car. Those are the signs of a champion.
I enjoy your videos I join awhile ago for I was there in 600cc modified the moha wk detailing 25 park across from u when u came in with flat you definitely fly at that place
Perhaps you didn't notice, but you are losing positions by hugging the inside of the track. By running higher, you can keep the engine rpm up in the power curve and give you a better throttle response. But then, I'm just an old man who doesn't know anything.
Have you been drinking? He started 15th and moved all the way up to 3rd. He literally didnt lose a position to anyone the whole race he was the one doing the passing.
Thank you for watching our video! It does seem that way, but hugging the bottom of the track is actually one of Cody’s main strategies here at Brewerton! When it comes to dirt racing at the end of the night the track will typically have grip on the way top or way bottom. All that shiny looking dark clay in the middle of the track is very slippery which makes the car lose tons of speed coming out of the corner (due to spinning tires). When he runs the bottom way tucked down he is actually getting much more grip when taking off. But as for running the top line, you are correct! The top will carry much more speed as the bottom makes you slow down a ton (When we track the speed on our GoPro he gets down to 20MPH in turn 1, then back to 80-90 after taking off!!), but if you hit it perfectly that grip way down on the bottom will help him launch the car down the straightaway. It all comes down to where there is or isn’t grip when a driver chooses his or her line to run. Thank you again for your view and comment, one of our main goals we’d like to focus on more on this channel is to educate people on the behind the scenes/what it takes to run up front and we’re always glad to share information like this😊
