Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people
Thank you for adding this. I've had so many Godly experiences during the Cherubic Hymn and it means so much to me. I appreciate this lengthy version you put together. Beautiful.
Heavens speak in this piece. Of Gods greatness and humility, grace and gentleness, love and selfsacrifice, of pain and inevitability, of His fall and rise, of heaviness of sins and the price paid, of the whole universe mourning, of forgiveness and embrace, of death and new life, of an eternity in peace. Of the longing in core of a human heart for the one who made them. God descends from heavens to rise a human from sins. He is Good and still after everything longs for us. How can we not love Him back..
Dame Patricia Routledge was an icon. A wonderful actor and comedian. But she could also SING...!!! And i mean operatically sing. As she was trained that way. I've heard some of her performances here on RU-vid and being a singer myself i was extremely impressed. She really could do it all. And she is so deserving of everything she's accomplished. A very learned and sophisticated lady for sure. Thank you for uploading this brings back a lot of memories.
“Lost in Translation” is such a beautiful movie with the amazing young Scarlett Johanson, and her delicate acting,so subtile. Though, the scene in the film when she’s in the park, watching a young bride and her husband, young traditional Japanese couple, and the melancholic mood of hers while she’s watching them passing by,because she goes out with a married man who will never allow her to have that beautiful moment, seems heartbreaking. Even if she doesn’t say it,it shows. This old man thinks only about his happiness with her,and doesn’t give a sh*t about depriving her of that moment in a lifetime, which he could get once himself because he is married. So selfish of him. On top of that melancholic heartbreaking scene, you have this aigre-douce music…makes me cry each time I see this film, reminds me of same feelings when I was younger and wanted to have that kind of normal married life;but wasn’t allowed to😭👌🏻😘. And then, wake up like it was just seconds;but it was a hole lifetime😳,actually, too late😭👌😘.
This is Russian Orthodox church music. I am Orthodox myself. You hear this exact hymn every Sunday during Divine Liturgy. The Cherbuic Hymn was written into the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. I would highly suggest attending a Russian Orthodox Church one Sunday to hear the entire Liturgy. It is a beautiful piece of Godly work.
Hello. One billion thanks for this inspirated, and inspiring sharing! Such composition was already done in high heavens before it was dictated to the composer. It could not at all me made here❤❤❤
The movie that the song and image are from is called "Lost in Translation" from 2004. I thought it would be common courtesy to credit them, apparently I'm mistaken?
