If they made a show like this now it would be called Captain Stabbin, the crew would be smuggling coke, a pedo ring would be operating onboard, there’d be min 2 murders p/show, 5 hospitalised over-doses and an army of ex-sas dudes protecting the boat from pirates.
Wow!!! Time sure Flies! I was born 1969! Was in Jr. high and grade school watching this with Matt Houston! Mork and Mindy! Laverne and Shirley! The Brady bunch! Bosom buddies! Knight rider! Bay Watch! Dawsons Creek! Melrose place! Beverly 90210! Etc. Wish I could turn the clock back! 55 now but still have the strength of a teen thank God!
Women in the USA were much more attractive during the 80s. Businessmen who traveled the world voted downtown Dallas as where you'll see the most beautiful women in the world. The 1980s! WOW! What a decade! Music - everything!
The LoveBoat was a cruise ship and this was back in 1970s and early 80s when TV was in its prime. I wonder if they have this whole TV series on DVD. Even Fantasy Island was another good TV show and Charlies Angels (TV) show. TV had magic back then.. I remember watching this when I was a kid. I remember being sick and staying home from school several times watching this show and my SATURDAY morning cartoons. Early in the morning and it was magic for me even when I was a kid. 70s 80s 90s were different compared to now 2024 which sucks.
It’s like I’m sitting in front of the big Curtis Mathes TV on the floor and my mom is telling me to take the trash out when a commercial comes on. WONDERFUL times. Why do we get older. 😞
Everyone in my family knew, that NOTHING interrupted my mother watching The Love Boat. It was her favorite show when I was growing up in the 1980s, and we'd all gather around the television after dinner and watch it when it came on. Oh the memories. I miss my mother so much. But hearing this makes me feel like she's alive again!
Used to watch this show w my grandma. She thought it was risque but she learned to love it like me. Cherish those memories. Capt Steubing was in Mary Tyler moore- how small the world is 😆 lol. Watched a bit of Love Boat recently for the first time in decades. Was not good back then. Watching it now makes you appreciate todays TV. The show starts off with passengers going on a cruise and Gopher and Doc are looking at them as play sex toys and rush up and offer the attractive females to be escorted to their rooms or to go to their cabin. The shows are also filled with attractive women telling Doc, the Captain and Gopher how hot they are and throw themselves at them, etc. What a joke. Unrealistic and rather insulting. My wife and friends went on a cruise and joked how unrealistic the Love Boat was and in real life if they were sexually harassed by the employees of a cruise ship they would be fired.
