It's so *sad*!--which is the point of Psalm 137. I like the extra vocal lines beyond the basic round. I'm sure this song will stay in my mind for many hours... remembering you, Zion! Thank you!
Hear the intro of this song called The Road to Babylon. The intro is based on "By The Waters of Babylon". Very beautiful. By the way, the whole music is wonderful, but it's strange that the music finishes suddenly, without a coda or a fade out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LgDpFzUGN-A.html
I, too, remember singing this for the first time in the 70's. ❤ I have since sung this with my sister Laurie many times over the years at family gatherings. We never forgot the words or our parts. 😊 She passed away yesterday, and I wanted to sing this in her memory. 😭💔🙏
Yes...We need Him every hour. May the almighty and our only hope bless you and continue to use you all miraculously for the extension of His Kingdom..!
I, too, sang that number in church choir in the mid 70s… I was reminded of this work from a Scripture reference (one of two) in Charles Spurgeon’s devotional entitled “Evening by Evening” for 13 June: “Be not far from me, O God” - Psalm 38:21… nice to hear a choir sing that again… ah, the memories…
I have this on the CD in my car right now. This has become my favorite song in the last few months. The crazy thing is I bought 5 CDs at a Concert by the Judson College Choir, including the Bob Bennet at Judson CD, then came home, put them in a drawer and forgot about the. Only recently I saw them in the drawer and took them to the car and played them on my way to the Cyber Symposium in Sioux Falls SD. The last of the five CDs was the Bob Bennett and its been in my CD player in the car ever since.
This song by Bob Bennett first touched me deeply in the mid 1980's and still finds me in moments of quiet reflection over how Jesus is still my Redeemer while this world has gone crazy during the Covid crisis of 2020-2021. I believe Jesus soon will be our coming back to bring His children home.
