Great job boys! For me in vic English always goes and a subject which you put full marks for your ATAR so to get a high atar you need high marks in English 😭 it’s much harder because of that but if you like English you’re fine
yea very true. I think out of all the subjects, English could be one of the more applicable ones so it might be good it's that way! good communication skills can take you a long way in life! all the best.
@@WhereNothingOnceWas The Caduceus is the staff of Hermes/Mercury who, while being one of the less problematic olympians, isn't a god of anything to do with healing. It was given to Hermes by Apollo who was the god of Healing and Disease (among many other things), but it is not classically associated with medicine.
Hmmm. I was giving my 8 year old, aspirong neurosurgeon, son..erm... advice this morning about how to go about it. My wife interjected an suggested watching your videos. Good advice I'll sit the whole family down in front of the telly and watch this. You are correct. This is a worthwhile video. A social good you are performing. Your one of the cello kids I belive? The boy wants to switch from violin to cello too. No doubt inspired by yourself and ya mate Liam. Probably not happening, as much as I'd like him too. I heard you returned to school to speak and inspire as well. Most impressive. Keep it up. Its great to achieve well but what is truly great and fulfilling is to contibute to others doing the same. As someone who's academic achievement l (or any other kind) wasn't so flattering its great to have information and current information from a clearly well put together young man.
@@eoghankuiper You can wish him that yourself when you meet him. Whatever I can do to help the algo and encourage a young man such as yourself. I'll get you on the radio or the podcast or something sometime when your up... maybe you can have us on your channel!
this was super fun to watch + everyone seems really cool! i'm actually finding it really hard to choose between the halls in the residential village for the upcoming sem :') would you swear by the richardson hall or do you think there's another hall worth applying for?
Thanks so much!! It's certainly a tough decision, but I would swear by Richardson Hall as one of the best halls in residential village (no bias :)). If you like privacy and having your own shower/kitchen then I would definitely recommend some of the Urban Community options. Hope this helps!
@@eoghankuiper Would it be possible to make a tips video for methods and spesh, I am a bit worried on how I will get a high grade for the upcoming exams :)
Thanks for the comment! I actually made this video which should hopefully help - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QVH5YSzr6R4.htmlsi=ufhqQv1NXLGtKRNw
informative video, thanks :) is the ucat exam for grade 12 students only? if i don't get in straight away from high school, would i still be able to sit the ucat again in my first/second year of uni (doing another health-related course)?
Thanks and great questions! It only makes sense to sit UCAT in Y12 as the results are valid for just one year. Yes you can enter after starting another uni using UCAT and GPA (non-standard pathway), however bear in mind that this is quite competitive and not all unis offer this (10-30 places available per uni).
Hey, I saw on a previous video that you have done accelerated literature in high school (or English) but do you have any advice on the IA and EA for those subjects?
Hey, great question! Feel free to watch my English video on my channel also and that should answer all your questions. Otherwise please reach out and DM me @eoghan.kuiper on IG.
Thank you soo much, this video has been the most helpful to me I'll be in Monash in 2024 as an international student and have been struggling to choose the type of accommodation to stay This has helped so much, thanks for the detailed introduction and insights Everyone seems so friendly 😍
Being social is honestly such an unique and important advice which i can't agree more, and that i don't see any others bring up in these types of vids I will definitely show this to my friend who study med ☺️✨
This has to be one of the most fun dorm vlogs I've seen! Planning to join one of these halls next Feb as a postgrad student. The hall culture looks pretty nice
That was a great vedio may i ask you a question is there also any scholarships for international students to study medicine in Australia for undergraduate student?
Thank you! There are definitely a number of scholarships available for undergraduate international students, however these are sadly quite limited for the medical faculty. I would recommend checking the scholarships website at Monash for further information (www.monash.edu/study/fees-scholarships/scholarships). Hope this helps!
In university how do you attempt to understand the information at lectures/workshops/tutorials etc? Im a first year premed student, summarising the information by trying to write the notes in my own words from the lecture slides is getting very time consuming and I don’t think I can benefit much from it. What do you think would be a better approach to this? Thank you!
Great question! Generally speaking, summarising isn't great for achieving retention of knowledge that is necessary for exams. However, it can assist if it helps you to stay switched on and focused in class. Generally, I avoid trying to take notes during class, and try to absorb as much of the information as I can by actively engaging in the classes (asking questions, working in groups etc.). But when I go home, I try to consolidate the things I had learn in class by doing a blank mind map or mind 'dump' by writing down as much information as I can remember. Then, I use mind maps to consolidate my information of the topic (alongside the textbook) and follow the rest of the steps as shown in the video. Hope this helps!
