The biggest problem with the Pakistani passport is not the govt, but fellow citizens that are caught doing all sorts of illegal things. When so many beggars, illegal immigrants, fraud visas, and drug smugglers are caught and Pakistani travel agents are both incompetent and/or fraudsters, this treatment is bound to happen. Tourists should also check official channels instead of going here and there. This is not just Qatar or the Middle East. Thailand has given some South Asian countries visa-on-arrival, but Pakistanis undergo special checks. The same goes with Malaysia. You cannot get a Singaporean visa without having a citizen invite you...not even a transit visa. China, the closest friend and ally, also does not allow Pakistanis to come as tourists unless in a group through a tour operator. Indians can go to Hong Kong visa-free but a Pakistani cannot even transit...even at the airport without going out...unless he/she has a visa. Heck, even Tanzania has special requirements for Pakistanis and requires them to submit applications 2 months in advance. At least 03 Middle Eastern countries have also given the Pakistani govt a formal warning regarding the behavior of Pakistanis in these countries....beggars, lacking ethical values, and incompetent, respectively. Time for citizens to play their roles too rather than just blaming govt. and others. As a Pakistani who lives in the UAE, I can testify that all these problems are a result of our own harkatain. It also does not help that a vast majority of Pakistanis living here are labor-class or low-paid workers.
