I just found your video. I'm 4 weeks post ACL and Mensicus and watching your video motivate me to go to physio more often. anyway I also had ACL surgery on my left knee in 2016, and now had ACL and meniscus on my right knee. Yeah.. this is life.
I thought I’d done every post ride stretch, but I’m glad I’ve found this, it’s excellent. Loads of time on the upper body, which is often neglected. I’ve just done it after a 2hr ride in Ibiza, so the music was spot on too🙏❤️
All these exercises are at the end of 3 months or 6 weeks. As I had ACL+Meniscus surgery on 6 July 2024, but today on 18 August 2024 that is exactly after 6 weeks I have weakness in my knee.
This was my first time attempting yoga again after my injury. I appreciated being able to return to a space that was so understanding about the frustration behind the recovery.
I’m 1 year post op, and I’ve also had to have manipulation under anesthesia due to problematic scar tissue and insufficient range of motion. I’m about 3 weeks post-MUA, and I cried during this session as well. It’s refreshing to know I’m not completely alone in my journey, and how overwhelming the feelings of frustration and impatience can be. Thanks for a good class- I’ll be using this a few more times in my recovery process for sure. ❤
Hi Gemma, Im so glad i found your channel. I love yoga & I always do my stretches before and after weight lifting. Im at 6 weeks post op and attempted child’s pose for the first time since my accident (2 months ago) and i’m so sad that i’m struggling to do it. Were you able to accomplish childs pose again? If so, how long did it take you to accomplish?
I’ve noticed everyone got to stay at the hospital for what seems like at least 24 hours. When I woke up I was on my way home within 30 minutes. My nerve block didn’t work very well either so that wore off by the end of the day.
Got my ACL and Meniscus repair as well. The doctor prohibits me from using my left foot to walk (weigh bearing) so I had to use cruches for 6 weeks which is crazy. Btw, its been pas 2 weeks and I cant bend my knee more than 20 degrees, do you have any tips about that?
Wow You are doing so much at 5 months😅❤ you still recovery is very good. This is exactly how I felt…I had 3months of depression. So difficult to overcome this.
This is exactly what I did far too much, way too soon. Im sorry I didnt see this video before! I was super active before strenous work and 3 hours fitness almost everyday and then home activities. And I was used to so much activity, I was never this slow and tired in my life. im 76 days postop now went swimming, I went to small yoga curses, did the strengthening and the maschines…and then got problems with my other knee…I dont know why, if I put so much effort and the other knee took all the weight, and get me a bursitis now. Will I ever habe the strength and endurance like before? I have an appointment to see my doctor next week, hope I didnt damage the other knee too😢Hope you are doing well. Its been 2 years now. Do you feel like the old you now? Everyone says that you come back stronger but I cannot imagine that it could be true…Im struggling❤
Hi I’m waiting for my ACL and Mencius surgery should get an appointment in few months time, this video was very helpful I’ve been told that I rush back too quick when I hurt myself in training so I need to take tips to slow down thank you for the video was very helpful
Hi ma'am!! What kind of meniscus tear you had? Is it bucket handle? And how much weight you used to apply on your injured leg while walking after 1 week of your surgery?
Thank you so much! I am one week into post op and this was beautiful. I had a quad graft. I have regained strength in my left leg and can walk without crutches but with a brace. I am so grateful that you made this video for us. Obv I couldn't bend my knee more than 45 degrees
I’m 3 weeks post op from an ACL and meniscal root repair. Counting down the days till I hit the 6 week mark, where I can be independent again. This video has put a lot of hope in me that I needed, cheers 👍🏻
I have pain when I sit in crossed legs or pegion leg , medial side of the knee, post op 5 months. ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. Does that pain go away with practice? Over time!?
I am 3 months post op, patellar graft taken from my left knee, for my left knee, and I still can't fully bear weight on top of my knee by itself, so table top ones I only did on one side, overall really nice to be able to do some yoga though, haven't been able to since my injury 🙏🏻 😊
Hi Gemma, how come you never released a 12 month post opp vlog, I had a similar accident and I was watching your progress , I'm at the 13 month mark now
Your yoga practice was so cathartic to me. I’m currently just over 3 months post op, almost 4. During the seated hamstring stretch I honestly almost started crying when you were talking about how it feels like we’re better but not 100%. Sending all the love and good vibes towards you from this act of service.
Hi Gemma I just found your videos and I’m going back to a year ago when you had your ACL surgery to watch your journey. I just had my ACL surgery on my left knee. I tore it completely by falling doing a lateral split in my kitchen. I am almost 6 weeks postop and it’s been quite an experience. I’m going to physical therapy twice a week plus I’m doing it at home twice a day. I used a walker for several weeks after it first happened because my surgery wasn’t done until a month after the fall. I got rid of the walker and now I’m using a cane. I’m hoping to get rid of that in two weeks. To anyone out there that is reading this that’s had this surgery hang in there think positive thoughts it’s very draining on your psyche but you can pull through. There was a time in the beginning I felt like I was never gonna walk again and I am walking! So keep the faith and charge on 🤩
Gemma It's been... Three days after my surgery and I am feeling so much pain and I am not able to do the physiotherapy on my own.... Please help me and I am feeling my calf numb
@@GemmaLinaker Yes Gemma, I am doing fine... It's been two months my recovery has been delayed coz I also had a menusical repair too so it's quite delayed
Hi Gemma, I am now at the 6 month mark I tore my acl during Jiu Jitsu. I am not allowed to return until 9 months. I have had similar set backs. Thank you for your videos.
Hey Gemma! When I searched this, I am also in 3 months post op for the left knee complete tear ACL with quad tendon autograph. I have been looking forward to get back doing exercise I love again especially yoga.. Every milestone is a progress, even to get back biking on the street again. Your words of encouragement along this video soothed me and reminded me to be okay with the progress we are now. The pain comes and go and like u said, some day it's better, but the other day it seems like not progressing enough. But here we are ACL warriors <3
Loved it. I happened to turn this on exactly after three months, that time when you feel sick of what your body has turned into and you wanna desperately turn it around and into what it was earlier
