Hi, my name is Mick Scrivener, My wife Julie and I are self confessed cruisaholics, but we cruised mainly with Carnival (Let's just say over 50 Cruises since 2008) !!!! This channel is hopefully going to help (primarily new cruisers to Carnival) by setting expectations and giving useful tips along the way. I don't expect you to agree with everything I say, the world is not built that way, but these are my opinions and what works for us, so hopefully you will get something out of it to make your cruising experience better !!!
note of interest Mick . We saw the QE11 come in this port of Corner Brook on her maiden voyage . The ship came in out of the fog and in the daylight , this scene was super , grateful to have seen this
mick ; this is one port I would like to visit , although I live here . We have sailed on twenty - two cruises ,seen all the Caribbean with two repositioning cruises to and from Europe .We have tons of memories and photos .Sailed on five different cruise lines . Not finished yet , hopefully . Corner Brook is my reference port .

8:33 Durty Harrys has some delicious Bloody Mary drinks! (It is about three bars down from Rick's). Also - this is near the 'world's smallest bar' which has one or two seats out front lol.
5:17 no chickens or roosters near the Hemingway house due to the six-toed cats (polydactyl). Key West is great for several things... buying artwork and bar hopping (Duval Crawl).
6:54 ABSOLUTELY CORRECT - we ordered an Uber and they did not let them in a certain way. Getting on the ship was VERY easy - getting out of the port area - not as much. We had an aft facing cabin and had a great view of both the bridge and the opera house.
8:27 your cabin videos are excellent. They are easy to follow, accurate and informative. I have tried to replicate the way you do videos to send them to you and I am not that smooth. FYI - the aft cabin sun mention - I wish I knew that before we booked those cabins as there was little to no shade.
7:55 remember that the wattage for the converters is usually not that high - be careful using high wattage items like US hair dryers or curling irons especially for extended periods of time. You can buy a transformer (with multi country adaptors) for higher wattage items and for extended uses. Note: Transformers are pricey AND heavy.
Great tips, Julie! In the baskets I'd keep my trivia sheets, extra pencils I've walked off with, and other odds and sods. Folding the towel a couple of times makes a bigger wedge to prop the cabinet door open. It does work; keeps my water cold. Check your email in a day or so. Cruise accessories coming your way.
My B-Day is on March 22nd but it is a pain in the a$$ to go on cruise at that time (Spring Break).... But, I did see the page on Facebook, in which I joined, and I will be contacting you shortly so that I can book. WHY DOESN"T AMBER COVER AREA NEVER EVER HAVE PRESIDENTE BEER!!! 😡😡😡 Well, they had it once but it was in a can at that bar at the top of that hill... Presidente taste a lot better when your at DR compared to here. Colonoscopy Party!!!!!
Do they have any hockers (people trying to sell you things) other than their internal massage person? Does the message person seek you out or do you go to them?
Hi from Australia. I recently got off the Splendour, did a 10 day tour of Vanuatu. I have just booked my second cruise in 2026 to Moreton Island. Loved every minute. I hid in the bathroom on disembartion day. I did not want to get back to reality. This cruise looks beautiful.
@@mickthecarnivalcruiselinet1901 Idid. I had the wine package. The first night I asked for a bottle with one glass. The second I asked for a bottle and they asked if I wanted a glass or a straw. Cheeky bugger. I will look forward to the videos
