I share my thoughts on the latest vehicles on the market and give you the content you need and want to either feed your love of vehicles or to help you in your quest towards owning one. Thanks for joining me in my love of all things related to the automobile!
Nice truck except for the Lady motor I drove all 3 engine versions except the diesel (NJ makes you run DIF in all new disels), and decided on the 5.3 V8
Nice road trip with a travel trailer. Ford has a nice pick up. Nice POV driving shots with great scenery. We just took delivery of the Ford lightning rival the Silverado EV RST. We are switching over from a Silverado LTZ 2500 and we tow a 24 foot wakeboard boat on the weekends. Your topic choice was relevant to our towing use case. Thank you for posting.
We are blessed to live in a beautiful place for sure. Im glad there are others like me who would consider going from my HD truck to one of these EV trucks. I haven’t driven the Silverado EV yet but was very impressed by it when I got hands on with it earlier this year. I wish the Ford had an option for a slightly larger battery like the GM trucks for towing. I’m hoping I will be able to replicate this test with the Silverado at some point to see how it compares. Enjoy your new truck and thanks for sharing!
As one of your loyal “10s and 10s” of viewers 😂 I greatly appreciated this video. A real world application and experience video is definitely helpful when trying to make an informed decision on whether or not a vehicle like this would suit one’s needs. Thanks guys 👍 P.S. I’d love to know if your portable generator could charge the truck after you get to camp.
Haha, your support is greatly appreciated. Thanks for being one of the 10s of 10s!! Yeah i already spoke to him about doing a quick video to see how the charging would go with a generator. Not likely the best plan but if you are in the mountains a few days with no charger nearby it might be the difference between going to your favorite camp site and not.
$60k is more than i have to spend on a vehicle but to be fair this is their fully loaded top of the line model being priced. I will probably always be a 2-3 yr old used vehicle buyer. Id like to think prices will come back down but I dont think we will ever see prices like we had 5 yrs ago, sadly. Thanks for the view and comment.
I don’t believe it has any separated fog lights, they may be integrated somehow into the headlight cluster. And the 2.5L turbo 4 cylinder engine is the only option on this new Traverse.
Yeah facts. The price should improve over time as it isn’t so “new” and other trims should follow between a WT and RST. And the tire prices are crazy, last time I put them on my truck it was almost $2500 for the set. That physically hurt to pay haha
Front instead of rear bc it’s a truck and while most charging stations don’t allow for you to easily charge with a trailer some of them you could by nosing in. Very few pull through stations currently so the rear charge port decreases your chance to charge while towing. As for the right side, well the most robust charging network currently and likely for a while is the Tesla charging network which would mean it needs to be on the front right to best use these stations as they come open to other brands. Back left is fine if not towing but again, it’s a truck and marketed as one that you would likely tow with so front right seems more appropriate. The industry as a whole will be more successful if all manufacturers try to create an integrated charging network that works for all vehicles, and again Tesla has the head start on this network so easier for others to follow their established charge port location. What are your thoughts on it?
I believe if you use your personal hotspot from your phone and tie the truck to that hotspot, the large google maps will work as if you have paid for the subscription.
Sorry to hear that. This was my very first RU-vid video so lots of learning occurred and continues to happen today. Hope you will come back and visit the channel again.
$65K plus tax, are you f**king kidding me, for a midsize truck, my 2019 Silverado HD LT package cost me $53K, and thats a lot of truck, these prices are obscene, hope Chevy goes broke
Yeah I don’t dig the price for sure. It’s a sweet truck but for me, that kind of $ is going towards a new HD truck not a tricked out Colorado. Sounds like you got a new HD truck at the right time at $53k. Do you like your Silverado HD?
The Mach e is a great car. Before I bought one, I test drove a Tesla and then the Mach e. The Ford is just built better compared to the Tesla. I don’t care that the Tesla is a few tenths of a second faster. It’s just better all around including its looks. Great video!
Thanks! Ford has better build quality for sure. And those seats truly were very comfortable. Any glaring issues you’ve had or things you really wish were different on your Mach E?
I’ve heard the charging concern from other owners as well but none have said it would have changed their purchase. Glad to hear you are enjoying yours.
Liked the video, and the Avs hat! Haha. I've a Trail Boss w/Duramax, plus an Avalanche decal on the back window, like any respectful Trail Boss owner would. :)
Heck yeah! I might sneak an Avs sticker onto my buddy’s truck we tested haha. Always glad to have fellow Avs fan joining the channel. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm impressed with the way GM developed this motor and how quiet and smooth it is. You said " like every other diesel today...quiet" I disagree. Stand next to a Ford or Stelantis (Cummins) and you'll need ear plugs for the knock and a respirator for the smoke and stink. Not true on the Duramax.
It's basically the same diesel engine BMW uses (M57/N57 diesel) in some of their vehicles. Much better emissions system design than most other American vehicles.
@@saltcar people need to stop calling engines, motors. Motors are electric. Engines are combustion, fed by fuel. Massive difference. Especially now that plenty of vehicles that are electric with motors.
This new Prius is nice! I love the styling and it’s about as cool of an efficient car as you can get. This would make a nice looking all electric vehicle too!
How is the new ten speed automatic gearbox? Is it reliable? Because I heard on RU-vid that is problematic!? Some owners complaign about it? Like it would be the worse of them all!? Thank you kindly, beautiful video!
I don’t have a lot of insight on issues that others have reported but of those I know who own a Silverado or Sierra with the new 10 speed they have all been very happy with them.
I agree, if your use case is towing I would recommend the diesel over the 5.3 for the higher torque and at much lower rpm. The turbo is also a big deal where I am at altitude. 5.3 is a great motor though if it meets your needs.
This engine makes 120 lbft more torque than your engine. Not even the 6.2 can match it in torque. A non-Trail Boss truck with the Duramax easily gets 27-30 mpg highway.
@@joshtaylor1416 The 3.0 Dmax is a better towing engine than the 5.3. The 5.3 just doesn't have the torque so you need the 10-speed and NHT max tow package, but that means giving up the Z71 option.
@@PresNGo silver metallic black trim full stepside spray on bedliner and role up box cover best truck I had 50 k km so far I'm in canada and have no problem on winter starts
My friend says he gets 25-27mpg on the highway. Obviously here in CO that varies based on where you are driving with the mountains but he said that’s what he typically gets on the highway.
Great truck review! The way you convey your knowledge and information is very natural. Not forced. It’s like you’re just having a non-rehearsed conversation as you share your insights along the way. That’s what I enjoy about your videos. Looking forward to your next review.
@@PresNGoThat Sand color is perfect for the black accents. If not for Slate Gray, I’m sure I’d go this route. On another note, here in Michigan those 3.0’s are becoming impossible to source… And for good reason Ha! Great review brother!👊🏽💯
Hi guys, do you have interests in making a video which exploring tesla camping mode? There is a customized self inflating memory foam camping mattress for model y, we can offer the free product.
The games are fun. When we first got the car it would be oddly quiet in our house, and then I would find all of the kids in the car playing games, watching RU-vid, HULU, whatever, climate control on, just having a blast. The stereo system is far better that the one in my house, and the seats are more comfortable than my couch. Honestly, it’s a great home theater system on wheels. We do a descent amount of traveling for sports with the kids and they use it all the time if one of them is board. They’re safe in there with all the climate controls, Sentry mode, and cabin camera, etcetera. It’s more of a useful car than any car I have owned.
If you haven’t already bought one: referral codes can give you small benefits life free supercharging for a few months, free FSD Beta for a few months, etc. If you don’t have one to use already I can send you mine. If you want to try FSD Beta, feel free to give me a shout. I am a little far south of you, Albuquerque, but we might be able to connect, if you like.
Performance side of it is fun. Daily utility is even better. Wake up everyday with full charge, don’t spend much time (or $) on maintenance, service is excellent, 5⭐️, the app is great with tons of useful features, running costs are extremely low. If I had to pay for electricity, a full charge would cost me less than $2. That’s not a typo, two. Honestly, it makes other daily drivers obsolete.
