Definitely one of a kind. But when I first heard her voice she is very close similar to Amy Lees voice of Evanescence. She has very similar vibes a haunting chill to her voice but very beautiful.
I’m sure Nightwish gives her life more stability and pays better then After Forever or ReVamp did. If she is happy with Nightwish then I’m happy for her!
This woman just continues to tear at my heart and bringing me to tears, but I keep coming back for more of Floor's songs, from all parts of her career!!! In this tune, in particular it's how she sings that last phrase starting at 3:50 and carries the word "through" the way she does...it just melts me every single time! So, so beautiful! And yes, shoutout to Joost's superb keys! ☺❤✌🤘

Back here in 2023 to watch this AF evergreen.. For those who wonder what Floor is saying at the start, here's my translation: "Okay, we'll continue with something completely different. Recently we put out a new CD called "Invisible Circles". You already heard some of this concept album. And one of the tracks is really quite different, the ballad "Eccentric". Joost [van den Broek] and I would like to do that one for you guys." Lyrics: What do they see when they look at me? Who are they to judge me If they never spoke with me Never looked without laughing Never tried to see, see me I can't believe that it is only me The person to hate The only left out I can't believe how they can be so mean If they could feel the brutal stings of their words And the bitter cold when they laugh Once more I'm running Running away, I must hide Can't take anymore A fight to free me from an endless struggle with life Running, tell me how far should I go If they're all the same This fight I'm fighting my way through I don't really want to be like them The way they behave The way that they live I don't really need someone No people like that Someone in a world with wars and respite A world without the feeling I must be running Running away, I must hide Can't take anymore A fight to free me from an endless struggle with life Running, tell me how far should I go If they're all the same This fight I'm fighting my way through Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
My eyes stay shut My mouth won't speak anymore Feel, that's all that I do Hear, all I have left I pray, if it helps, in my silence; end my pain please Crawl into my skin See into my hell (live without a life) My heart won't love anymore It beats the time away Stop, that's all that I ask Free my tortured body Slip gracefully into my death, my salvation Crawl into my skin See into my hell (live without a life) My heart won't give in Machines keep me here (crawl into my pain) A shade of myself A human disgrace Please let me go Tubes The sound of machines They talk about me More pain, needles sting I slide away A white light's piercing my skull, The nurses wipe my drool A day passes by A perfect one to die
I forgot how good ReVamp sounded as an entire unit live. I so strongly into them back in 2010. Floor has always had such a confident stage presence and of course, her voice is out of this world.
i actually like the rather unorthodox mix. i dig that snare tone plus during my teens bands started playing popcorn or soprano snares so it cut through the mix along with the china splash. i normally like vocals to be the lowest in the mix but this is Floor. the fact i can actually hear her gutturals along with the tonal quality: i was completely blown away. yeah, this mix is fine for me.
Tirya compared to Flor is like comparing sour to long. Tarja has academic vocals, Flor has pop vocals. I don't see Annette Olsen as a vocalist at all. She's good, but not in this group. Flor gave everything these men lacked.
