It was in 2013, but as far as I know it's still operational today! It's a pity that I could not get any closer (I was not travelling alone then), but at least something is recorded. :) A beautiful system indeed with those Pohlig buckets and grid trusses!
@@zsolt.czimbuli I spent almost two days there in 2005 and took many photographs of the Cairo Montenotte end including the impressive coke plant. I spent the night in my van close to the ropeway. It was nice to hear the sound of the buckets during the evening. Your videos on aerial ropeways are really valuable documents. Unfortunately aerial ropeways transporting material are a dying breed. Edit: I just looked up the information about the state of the ropeway: in April 2022 I was told that the ropeway was out of operation due to damage caused by a storm. I hope that it has been reactivated.
@@HaraldFinster It would be nice to see those photos! I also have some of other material ropeways from different locations. You could try and find me somewhere online to exchange photos and info on this topic!
@@HaraldFinster I made my address visible now, you can find it in the About field of my channel. :) (I guess it is not allowed to publish it here in comment.)
The aim here was twofold: 1. To build this set from brand new, shiny pieces, as if I was in the eighties (when I have dreamed about any Lego train set, but we could not afford any), just opening the box. And compared to the price of an unopened set (which would also be a blasphemy to open nowadays) it was much-much cheaper like this. 2. To build it from "old red" bricks (the red colour before the 2004. colour change of Lego), this made it a bit more complicated, but at the end I succeeded. :)
