I share mosaic art tutorials along with mosaic art tips and tricks. Whether you're a mosaic beginner or experienced mosaic artist, there is something for you here!
"Are you serious Jen Jame!? I love your work! My favorite piece has always been the "Endless Summer" especially since I'm a teacher 🙂 Please make me something. Anything!" - Des S.
Everywhere I have looked online for Mac glue is sold out. Do you know where u can get it or can you recommend another glue. I'm doing a piece that the border and background are transparent glass so I can't have glue showing
I needed a saw to cut stone tiles for a backsplash. ru-vid.comUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I thought for sure I was going to need to buy a "better" blade than the one that came with this machine. I was surprised to see that blade worked great. Buying this saw was cheaper than renting and allowed me to take my time on the project. I wrapped the tiles (front and back) with blue painters tape and drew my cut lines with a sharpie on the tape. I performed all of my cuts free hand and had no trouble cutting the tile straight. There is a guide you can use to help with cuts if you prefer. This was my first tile job and this saw made it easy.
Great video. I'm here in the UK and very new to mosaic art. I want to start with using very small mirror tiles. Would the wheel grips be suitable to cut them, and what is the safest method of cutting? I suppose you wouldn't be able to clasp your hand over it to collect the pieces as these would be sharp. Can you give advice for cutting very small glass mosaic tiles. Many thanks
Hi there. I would like to do a mosaic on an old glass patio table. It is already sealed to the frame. Can you please tell me how/if can I proceed? Thank you!
I have an unusual application, but I think your recommendations in this video will help a great deal. I'm using 1" clear glass tile embedded in hydro-stone as a rough grinding tool for making a telescope mirror. Nipping the edges lets me conform to the mirror a little better. Thanks very much.
You're cute as a button. I looove your bear arms sign. Have you considered going to Rumble maybe doing some live stream DIY action? Thanks.

Aw you are so kind! I have not considered going to Rumble to do some live DIY action, but that sounds very intriguing! I should look into that among other things!
I'm trying to find a fast drying glue for use on general mosaic work (not glass on glass). I've used Weldbond & Mosaic Mercantile Adhesive (available through Diamond Tech) and these work well but take quite a while to dry (6-24 hrs) before grouting. I'd love to find a glue that can set in less than an hour and allow for grouting with minimal problems. Does anyone know of any quick drying glues? Appreciate any help.
What glue would you recommend for a patio table for weather wear and tear? I'm in central Mexico and I use no mas clavos which is no more nails and it works for my ceramic tile but I'm not sure about a lot of weather exposure. I can get it in clear.
My best friend does this but cuts her hand all the time, are there any gloves I can get her to avoid cutting but she can still have the ability to work with the gloves on? Thank you!
My mom has an old oval mirror in her bathroom. I want to use mosaic tiles; but I can't find a tutorial for the oval shape. I am a newbie; but, I am crafty.
LOL I thought I might pick up a few tips here and there. Maybe here, But seems like I was not doing so bad, I mean, this is funny. Are you high and then later in this video a little less high? Doesn't matter really just asking. LOL You are awesome, this was fun. Thanks.

Hi Larry....thanks for asking, but NO....I'm happy, not high. Maybe high on life. I'm wondering if you want to share whatever you're smoking? LOL. If you're referring to my eyes, I'm looking down at the camera. If you're referring to my behavior, I guess I should shove a nipper up my behind so I can deliver information in a more uptight and professional manner. Thoughts? 😂 This video is for beginners or at least reminds people of the basics. Glad you have the basics down. Thanks for the fun comment 😂
@ LOl i don't really have anything down. I just take forever to get what I am doing done. I'd probably make a really bad You Tuber/ I mean, besides being a life long smart ass and taking too long about things, I am probably not even 25% as cute as yo are. LOL. :0)
I want to do wine glasses - so which would be best for something that would be hand washed? MAC is sold out everywhere.
2 года назад
I would try E6000. I do sell some mini tubes on my www.jenjame.com website, but you can get larger tubes on amazon. I would make sure to push your mosaic glass enough to where the glue spreads across the wine glass in between (so that you have a decreased chance to see the glue through the glass).
Thank you, excellent video. I am thinking of trying to do glass on plexiglass. Would plexiglass work?
2 года назад
YES....you can definitely adhere glass to plexiglass. I would recommend using E6000 adhesive for that though. I have mini tubes for sale on my website www.jenjame.com but you can get larger tubes from amazon.
More videos please! You are the whole package! Fantastic!

You are so sweet! Thank you! I have been letting life, work, and excuses interfere with my passion to make more videos and create my mosaic online course. Thank you for the the mini "pep talk" (even though you didn't know I needed it)!
Thank you for the simplified video. I've never done mosaics, but I have two short posts outside from my a Caribbean roof I cut down. I've added lights on the top, I want to do mosaics underneath. I've bought all sorts of supplies and still am unsure of everything I need, so I'm searching videos and yours has been most helpful. Where can I find sheets of Mosaic glass? Tile? I've been to the big box stores for tile and it's really pretty plain. I want the nice colors... Thank you for any help you can give

Glad it was helpful Lisa! Your project sounds like so much fun! Have you tried Amazon? Type in "Mosaic Glass Sheets" in the search bar and check the dimensions because are much smaller than they look. We have Hobby Lobby and Michaels here and they have those options as well. The price can get VERY expensive though for glass.
Thank you so much Kaye! I replied beneath your question. Let me know if you have any more questions and/or if my advice (use Weldbond) doesn't work! It should work! :)
I am starting my very first Mosaic piece--finally. I want to know can I use a piece of stained wood that has been varnished to apply Mac glue and then my tiles??? If not---what do I have to do to it first and last before I start my project. I tried to use this wood and the Mac Glue and tiles would not stick to it. I took them off and sanded and cleaned the wood and it still want stick??? What do I do??? tk u K

Hi Kaye! I am glad that you sanded the wood (make sure it is totally brushed off and totally dry after sanding). I use MAC glue for mosaic glass pieces that I glue directly onto glass (not onto wood). I ALWAYS use Weldbond glue on wood and Weldbond does actually claim it can be used on wood. You should be good to go with this advice! Side note: If you are placing your finished project outdoors, you may want to check with Grainger.com (Weldbond company) to ensure it will maintain its bond. With that said, I have several art pieces that hang outdoors and have used Weldbond! I hope this helps!
These tools don’t cut it straight. What do you use to cut a seashell mosaic tile perfectly straight without breaking the bank?

Hi Sky! Unfortunately, the Taurus 3-Ring Saw is really meant for precision cuts - Here is the link to the company who makes this machine: geminisaw.com/taurus-3/ - You may be able to find this on Amazon as well. If you are cutting a mosaic tile that has ridges and bumps such as a seashell that you are referring to, I would recommend the Taurus...but, again, it is not an inexpensive tool...it is a machine. Another idea would be to score the tile and pull it apart then using a small handheld grinder to assist in shaping. It is a tricky situation!
Great channel and most of your videos are very helpful, but the demonstration with the tile nippers on this video not so much. Random cuts don't typically work when trying to make precision cuts. Onto the next video I guess - "Best Way to cut glass mosaic tile". Somebody reading this please reply with a link to a more accurate video... Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi Mike! This video is about how to cut mosaic glass with nippers. I appreciate your feedback because it led me to add more to my summary so that people don't get too sucked into this video and end with no resolution. I will definitely have to make a separate video just for precision cuts, so thank you again for the comment. To assist, for precision cuts, a VERY popular machine that mosaic artists use is Taurus 3-Ring Saw (for precision cuts) - Here is the link to the company who makes this machine: geminisaw.com/taurus-3/ - You may be able to find this on Amazon as well.
