Yeah sort of right. You still need some weight over the prime mover drive axles or it will have no traction. The idea of the dolly is to distribute excess weight onto more axles. In this case it is also over a wider distance and over more tyres so as not to concentrate too much weight over a small section of road and more importantly bridges.
I remember watching a Ford L-series long-nose trying to maneuver its way, in a tight spot in the middle of Buenos Aires Argentina, when I was there a few years ago. It had a short cargo deck relative to its overall length, which made an easy job look hard because of its poor turning arc. Back here in NZ, cab-overs with much longer cargo decks and superior turning arcs, make the job much easier in the same situation. Those trucks that operate a lot in inner cities and open roads, are usually Japanese.
Nice Truck. dont know, its trucking more Day`s Over Night? than its not nice. Tousands of Dollars for Lamps and Chrom Parts and not 50 fuckung Cents for a Cabin with Space for the Driver
If he took that building to Karamea on that truck he did an awesome job. Just a comment , if you tape up those chains for the gas bottle assembly so they don't swing like that during travel you won't mark or scuff the panel.
