Shoulda been two books: one about a cereal ad, one about a murderous dog. Also, just gonna be That Guy and say that locking the mom and son in the pinto for half the book was a mistake. Just not interesting enough.

At the same time there is a story The Storm of a Century which may have caused the Arrowhead project to mess up opening the hole in Todash where Pennywise is from. Storms are a driving force in King stories.
I was also an 8 year old whose parents thought, "It's on CBS. How bad could it be?" I did not sleep for 3 years after that. However, I was hooked and read the book when I was 12 and fell in love with it. I reread the book every couple of years, even made the mistake of buying the audible and listening to it while driving through backroads on Tennessee at night by myself...that was fun. The 1979 movie version is still my favorite. The 2004 version was okay, but looks too polished and just doesn't have the same atmosphere that the 79 version has. I'm going to do a rewatch of both movies before the new remake airs on Max next month.
My grandma's house had a horrible earwig problem. I remember opening a box of cereal and finding a bunch earwigs instead of cereal. In hindsight, I'm not sure if that happened, or if I just dreamed it cuz of the massive earwig problem. I used to be afraid of ants, too. Not a few ants circling your bathtub drain (why?), but a mass of ants. They bother me less, now, cuz before the pandemic, I used to eat my lunch with ants by the parking lot of my work. I'd give them little bits of chips or trail mix and watch them all come out of nowhere to help each other bring it home. Strangely, they prefer salty over sweet (wouldn't even touch the donut I left), and they really like those dried red peppers you find in tex-mex trail mix.
Carrie's not scary, and I don't think it's supposed to be. It's a revenge story. Carrie didn't suddenly go on a rampage for shits and giggles. It wasn't cause she suddenly had this power and wanted to stretch her legs. It was because of what was done to her. And being a hormonal teenager didn't help either. Carrie wasn't the bad guy in this story.
