The narrative that college isn't worth the money depends on the degree you obtain. Throughout my highschool experience I had every teacher tell me that I could get any degree I want and choose any career I want. However this idea that I can be anything once I obtain a degree is incredible flawed. I had friends who fell for this scam and acquired degrees in music, art , and philosophy, and obtained low paying jobs outside the scope of their degree. The degrees mentioned above require a significant degree of passion, risk and dedication to pursue those career fields. In summary every person is limited to a subset of skills, dedication, and risk aversion. In order to prevent the perpetual college scam, a person must understand their dedication and abilities to make a pragmatic decision about your future career/degree. (Understanding yourself in highschool is really hard!) This is from my personal experience and perhaps other people will resonate with this observation
That's very true, folks should map their career choices to college education. In the end of the day, anything that is this costly (tens of thousands) should be treated as an investment. Going in blind and paying a lot of money for art degree or music, followed by inability to make money, yes, that is a scam for sure.
I ended up using a lot of titanium earrings when I was younger and my piercings were healing because I was allergic to gold, sterling silver, surgical steel wasn't great either. Not to mention I was terrible at cleaning the holes, took more than two years to fully heal up, to this day one hurts a bit more with dangle earrings. Titanium is a bit more expensive, but I had a pair for more than four years and it served me great, until I lost them :(
Oh no! Maybe try this hack with a cheap pair of earrings, but I’m so sorry to hear 😣 My ears used to get all itchy, red, and have pus if I wear non-gold earrings. Since high school, I would put nail polish or super glue to create a barrier between the metal rod/pin of the earring and my ear. It’s been useful so good luck to you!
I totally understand where you're coming from and I like your POV I don't get my nails done because they're not I work and draw a lot so that's why I don't get them done and I save a decent amount of money doing that 😁
Kind of, depends on the item and at best the money earned will match inflation. It’s a very risky bet, I recommend putting those thousands (if not tens of thousands) of dollars into a high yield savings (3.5% interest rn), and that’s guaranteed money.
Just add Dear John by Taylor Swift to that list too. Nothing like a known douche to date and take advantage of a 19 year old. I honestly can not imagine a conversation between people with such an age gap with a teenager. It is so wild to me.
Oof forgot about that one and agree! There’s a movie called “An Education” featuring Carey Mulligan. She was playing a 17 year old girl who fell in love with a man in his 30s. She thought he was showing her the world (fancy parties, travels, etc) but turns out he took advantage of her. He simply groomed her and she later found out he was married with kids. She said at the end of the movie, “I feel old. But not very wise.” 😢
@@MonaLiea i really think it is that whirlwind and adult lifestyle that attracts so many young people to older guys. Lol let's take Leonardo DiCaprio as prime example. It is so hard to see the full intent of people when you don't have life perspective to look back on.
Because I uploaded the video using a song, the Post Malone one “I like you”. Ughhh 😩 Nowhere does it say “these music okay and these music are copyrighted” 😭😭😭
