I believe this was recorded live at The Palace Theater in downtown Hilo Hawaii, the Owen & I take turns playing the leads and the bass solo is very tasty.
Hey great music guys! I think Earth Wind and FIre would be flattered by your arrangement! Dave, wow! You sound good here! Deems, you da man always! Owen, wow! good groove layed down, and Steve, steady as always! Wow you guys were grooving back then1
Sorry for the bad AUDIO! If we only had some better equipment (Video-sound). Craig Mori did a great job for sound, but I think the whole thing was "filmed" on a cheap camera! "Live" from Hilo, Hawaii at "Connect Point".
Jessie Laine Powell, one of the up-coming Jazz/Pop/Gospel sensations! with the Hilo, Hawaii based Gospel Jazz band: L-R: Thomas McElroy, Steve Bader, Owen Matsui, Jean-Pierre, George "Iki" Camarillo. These are all friends of mine from Hilo, Hawaii. Although Jessie is originally from Lexington, KY.
Hilo's first all Gospel/Jazz band from Hilo, Hawaii: L-R: Stan Aoki, Thomas McElroy, Steve Bader, Owen Matsui, Jean-Pierre, George "Iki" Camarillo, Kent Matsui. Singers:Shallon Craddock, Jeannine Gilroy-Kane, Keahi Conjugacion. We had a swinging time at Hilo's Connect Point.
A jazz concert that I was part of (I played guitar and sang): One of the songs that was on the "line up": Keahi Conjugation with "What a Friend". Great Gospel Jazz from Hilo, Hawaii. -Stan Aoki
+namor filus new side kicks are not the easiest. I did round house kicks until I perfected the side kick. Side kick has been a very difficult one at that.
+mang kanor They are kids and low ranked ones at that. Actually Kajukenbo is the most nastiest martial art you will ever know of. They teach you to do a lot of damage with just a tiny bit of effort.
Daniel 3:17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” This is going to be my vigor, like these 3 boys, I will worship God through whatever, whether He chooses to deliver me or not, He is my Lord forever and ever.
I have always loved Pauline and her voice. They have never failed to touch my soul and uplift my spirit. I met her and the band once at Pasquale's on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when Seawind was at/near their zenith. What a great bunch of folks - very friendly, approachable, beautiful spirits, and they made some of the best music in the world while together. I need to catch them when they tour in/near L.A.
Love Pauline Wilson. Has anybody heard their new 2009 CD "Reunion"? All updated arrangements and new songs, and Al Jarreau as guest! Wish I had caught the live performance a few years ago in North Orange County!
