@@TheLoonyBin hmmm...I say it depends on what oda has in mind, as I believe that he's always been meticulous with his writing(despite his lack of confidence in some aspects) and has used his experience of doubt with introducing gear 5 to simply focus on doing as he pleases with his story. Before, the interview with the detective conan mangaka have us some insight on his thoughts for romance in general, which is why before I said I thought he was practicing that type of writing by having characters outside the strawhats be in those relationship dynamics. So, by using the importance of promises(like usopp and kaya, and luffy to genzo), experiences between Nami and luffy specifically, he's written an excellent prelude to a potential relationship beyond just friends for them in the story or after it. So he could have boa propose to luffy in front of the crew as she won't even acknowledge their existence unless he puts her focus on them, nami hear or witness this and we can see how she'd physically react or what she'd say after he rejects her...again.. lol

I’m theorizing how Naruto, Bleach, AOT, and MHA’s contentious legacy has legitimately damaged the notion of shipping main characters in a mainstream series without romance, hence why it might’ve gotten people anxious and wishing to avoid the trouble of facing the debate of the romance aspect early on, unless the author commits to its incorporation. Regardless of shipping and anti-shipping which either one could be completely chill and harmless or sometimes taken too far, I assume four consecutive series where the shipping aspect generated controversy to those series’ fanbase and their view on the story and legacy is among the factors on the anti-shipping sentiment and why people get logically worried for potential consequences of generating “mc ship” discussions when viewing the legacy of the story they liked which is meant to be a fun adventure all around, especially with one as long-lasting as this one.
Shipping is an adventure on its own and the fun of it is going on that adventure and being happy with what you can happen and thats why its fun. Its weird cause the ships that happened in at least bleach and Naruto, the authors for some reason named orihime and hinata as the heroines in interviews, yet many didn't take it as such and I can see why cause its like, they didn't nec present them as so, except maybe orihime slightly but even then not in the traditional sense. I never really focused on AOT shipping cause it never felt like it wasn't a major focus, but it became more of a tragic romance in the end and its great for those who enjoy it. Mha, I feel he wanted to do the mc and heroine ship but backed out in fear and left open ending because of possibly of the after effects he saw with Naruto and bleach. This is an assumption though so who knows if that was the case. Oda def has showcased tropes in a unique way so maybe thats where a lot of people view it that he will do the same with romance and not really go through a mc and heroine ship, but its not like he has ever denied hating it. So well see if he does anything and if anything were to be seen, it would be closer to the ending of the story rather anytime soon.
AOT was criticized for EM’s incorporation in particular due to Eren’s side in terms of writing, due to lack of proper development to feasibly sell people on the idea outside of Mikasa’s feelings, as well as its overall effect on the character and narrative’s development and themes which a number of people didn’t like. It also doesn’t help I think that the romance was a bit harder to frame from Isayama through the manga compared to the anime imo, which explains from my understanding that a lot of dislike comes from people reading the manga. MHA could’ve avoided this whole conflict of divide from fans had Hori committed more effort to its mutual development for its incorporation instead of leaving it too much as an exclusive unreciprocated element of Uraraka’s character, which then forced Hori to leave it unresolved right until the end. It’s among the reason why Deku gets too much flak and divide on who pairs him up with who throughout the plot, and by the end got a lot of people clowning and making his situation look really bad by the resolution.
I just appreciate that lunami shippers at least discuss how the certain ways luffy's and Nami's relationship is unique, even if it framed through a shipping lense. This my biggest point of contention when anti shippers and some general fans always try to rebuke how certain "lunami" moments are non unique by saying any strawhat would do it instead of engaging with the text and analyzing why oda choose to give nami and/or luffy) those moments.
Yep. I think lunami shippers never really try to take away what and who the characters are and try to force them completely out of the range of their characters. We also view context very importantly and not focus too much on just what the art shows. Context matters a lot.

To me, every Luffy ship is in a weird nebulous state (in terms of canon) cause of the nature of Luffy's character. Since, unless Usopp is around, he just doesn't show interest in woman. Luffy doesn't prioritize dating or courtship. That being said I do like LuNami. Luffy and Nami just have a special bond. Yeah, sure, Luffy has saved other women before like Vivi, Rebecca, and Shirahoshi. But he's also never gave them his strawhat. You know, who he has given his strawhat to? Nami. Luffy's strawhat is his most priced possession. Luffy's promise to Genzo to keep her smiling was like a man promising his father-in-law to take care of his daughter.
Yep, its honestly the one thing that hurts any luffy ship and thats luffy himself. I don't believe in the notion he can't fall in love or anything, cause he's a very emotionally intelligent person. I think he knows about it, but hasn't thought about it at all bec he's so focused driven on his goal. Thats why I don't see ships being confirmed until the very end if oda chooses to do so. Context is important bec it can showcase odas thinking you know. He can do the same things with other ships but its the context, the focus, how is it different and so on. Its those things I think shippers should focus on. The hat is a good example. He only gave nami the hat in a very emotional moment, that means more than just giving it to usopp bec he had an afro on. Like that context is important to distinguish to similar ones he does with others.

In the first chapter no, she was originally supposed to show up, similar to how her original designs were in the first 2 romance dawn versions. However, the editor suggested to oda to expand her story more throughout. Thats why in the anime, we see her in the first episode bec it was paying homage to that idea. I believe that we shouldn't just look at were they in the chapter, but what oda was thinking and why specifically he wanted to introduce these first in his story.
My issue with Lunami is that Luffy is aroace, so stopping him with anyone feels weird. Of course i wouldn't hate on anyone for it though, it just feels weird..
Zoro is literally the same, but is it weird to ship him with others? The way I see it, Luffy and Zoro are just too focused on their dreams to pay attention or care about romance. They are the only members who said that they would either achieve their dreams or die trying. So they just don't bother thinking about love and other commitment right now. But once they achieve their dreams, they will be free to do anything. That's when we can truly judge their sexuality. And if Garp got it in him, then I don't see why Luffy wouldn't.

While ive never been concerned or afraid of expressing my preferred ships, i have noticed a lot of things from rival shippers like that. I have no issues with shipping. But whenever a ship of two characters is much stronger to be true than other ships, then that’s fine. But we can’t argue or be hateful over it. And some who aren’t into the shipping craze, that’s fine too. You don’t had to agree or disagree on any ships in fictions.

As more of a lurker/fan on the DL of LuNami, I enjoy all the art and positivity I see but the overwhelming unjustified hate ”stick” people have (especially the Western OP community) discourages me a lot sometimes. Like be it the engagement baiting posts about why they’re ”bad/worst ship ever/siblings so do not ship them!” getting so many likes that makes you feel like you’re in the minority and wrong for loving this ship. Even though it’s so strange and childish to see so many hate on such a harmless ship and pushing their headcanons as fact, just being gaslit over fiction is so alarming and these individuals are not okay in any way for doing so. I have my fair share of ships I can’t stand but I don’t make it my whole personality to spread a hate agenda on it and anyone shipping said ship (these comments get to me the most, generalizing and being insulting towards an entire group of people for just loving an unproblematic ship), I just block and scroll by so why on earth can’t they do the same??? This is no more than everyone's theory, and my hunch isn't so much about Zack and Aerith reunion but more about Zack, Cloud, and the entire party reunite. You guys are taking this "reunion" aspect way too literally. It's more of a symbolic.
The entire party will be somewhat involved in the final fight against jenova imo. That doesn't mean tho there would be a reunion between Zack and aerith before then. The thing is, it can be both literally and symbolic and connecting the game with AC an showcase a reunion between these two because they do somehow find each other before AC otherwise we wouldn't have seen them at the ending of the film.

I think what Monster Trio fans miss some nuance by just strictly sticking to defeating the "top 3" combatants prior to Wano In Albasta Baraque Works was defeated in the way Vivi introduced the hierarchy Ussop defeated mr.4, then Sanji Mr 2, Nami miss double finger, then zoro Mr 1. Also all of there fights were used to get Vivi to the Plaza/palace and happend before luffy returned In Enies lobby the fights were framed to get the keys to free Robin. And while they C9 was defeated in more or less order of strength, Namis key freed Zoro and Zoros key freed Robin. Also Luffy Zoro and Nami defeated the C9 agents that took robin in Water 7, which a neat narrative throughline. Wano is where I really felt that one could strictly follow the Monster Trio fights are framed as being the most narratively important mostly because of CP0's play by play. But even then if it wasn't for Nami defeating Ulti the rest of the Toppi roppo fights would not have been one-on-ones.
Yep. Thats also a good catch I never thought of with the cp9 members defeating the ones who took robin. All in all, each trio has its importance and depending on the moment itself, one is put above the other for that moment.
Yeah I agree, just wished that people weren't hyper fixated on the importance of fights just because it's a battle Shonen. If one wanted to see the proportion of chapters relative to arc length you have to combine all the one-on-one fights ( as they are being used as the metric for conflict resolution) to achieve 20% to 30% of the arc, as most sh fights resolve in about 2 to 3. chapters. The exception being of course luffy since he get multiple rounds and Wano post ch 1000

Botan is actually either 70% of the police force just for her marksmanship, while she does do pranks or gambling, she is quite active in the competitiveness in the recent wars happened at the start of Day 3 to 7. The last Biggest Heist of the HoloGTA includes both Ayame and Botan erasing more than half of both of their police force before the EMS Pillfox medic team arrived. Both were killed by each of their forces though. Ayame was killed by Iroha when she is picking up the bodies of their comrades. Botan was killed behind when she stretched too far from her cover and caught behind by Anya.
Ayame may be cute, but damn, she is most of the time the one who made the slaughterhouse of the HSPD, she got trouble in shoot outs against cars but she could face off Botan or Matsuri if the condition is right. In fact she's one of the heavy hitters in Hololive's FPS roster. If Aqua was still here, no matter what position she would fit in the narrative and RP here.

Ina Rarely crashes her Helicopter, in fact Ina is one of the best Pilots around HoloGTA, the only thing when she crashes is when the uneven terrain.. like what she said that she failed fighting Physics. But all in all, she's quite steady compared to Ririka or other Pilots, including in the police or civilians RPs.
The HSPD at the early Day 1 to 2 was busy chasing individual heists as well (Their own Police force within Casino and Carbaret club) Most of the time, Gunshots were ignored if there's no patrols prior at the area. The only people that will see them are the EMS Pillfox Hospital medics, from their Directors to Nurses. But in the start to Day 3 to 7 most of the Police force are active of chasing or finding any gunshots in the area specially if it includes massive heists in group of buddy systems.
The Aiming the gun thing was a mechanic only in HoloGTA, they cannot steal cars when they can't mug the driver's keys, stealing it without keys, they can't drive it, and when they shoot a gun and Kill an NPC, it will alert the HSPD (HoloSantos Police Department)
Lamy... seiso? Well I guess it wasn't as known but in her JP side, she's quite chaotic drunk Elf and the 'seisoness' only lasted few months after her debut, now after all these years she is relaxed and doing her thing, though most of the time she is quite clingy or compliant to her fans, her genmates or Botan and just chug big alcohol levels like AkiRose.

The 'Teleport' thing are only the 'gods' or what we say, 'Mods and Admins' there's three of them in game, but lots of them are probably watching at the scenes. One of those are the 'Cover Staff' named individual that will be later seen at the coming days. The other 'Gods' are Miko and Suisei, but they turn it off when they roleplay. They will only use it when something is bugging in the game or someone needs help or assistance.
If I'm not mistaken there are at least 4gods, 2staff and micomet.There's the blonde one and I remember seeing one with short hair only once. Or I was sleeping and watching and saw things lol

His main goal in Rebirth is to reunite with Aerith- it's what motivated him to return to Midgar in the first place. It makes absolute no narrative sense if all the angst they've been building up since Remake lead up to nothing. They showed how much Zack cared for Aerith, along with Aerith confirming she still loves Zack in Gongaga. We know that they did find each other again in Advent Children, but we never got to know how that happened or what conversations they may have had with each other. I genuinely believe part 3 expands on that, as well as more lore surrounding the Lifestream through Zack and Aerith's pov.
Love the video and i do believe that will get a zack and aerith reunion but if the dev decided not to then I would think it going to upset a lot of people and that be rough ride but I do agree whatever happens will happen
You know looking back, it’s funny how Oda has to say these things about being afraid of romance within his plot because of its genre, when his literal mentor (like him or hate him) made one of the greatest romantic developments ever seen under Jump and in the shonen action story context, whom Oda even assisted with.
In one of the early concepts for One Piece, he had a note that stated that the luffy prototype fell in love with a prototype for nami so its not like the idea never existed in oda's head. He could still make it where a ship doesnt happen in one piece, but seeing that tells me he at least had thought about it.
@@TheLoonyBin I mean I’m just saying, outside of that whole prototype talk, the fact he has to say these things about romance and action meant to be two separate genres of stories, when he himself worked and assisted on the creation of a manga that has both those things and was mentored under is a little weird
I’m a big shipper, but I would be fine if none of my ships sail. The story is amazing as it is! What I‘m not okay with, is the hate that those couples get, just for existing in the fanbase… please let people draw, write and/or enjoy whatever they want🥲(as long it's not problematic)
This event really is showing another side to all of them xD (Also, I still have no idea what Faction Suisei is in, I'm guessing the mafia/gangster.) A lot of good highlight comes from Kronii (that 1 hours clip is peak cinema xD But there's a shorter 12 ish minutes version), FuwaMoco, Iroha and Koyori. Calli and Bibou has some good ones too. This event is a gold mine of hilarity and chaos.

One thing that interesting that I both in this interview and in the 2007(?) interview, that oda always tries to distinguish between romance series and battle("action") series. Romance Series devote the majority or all of their runtime to the courtship of their leads. Obviously for more action oriented series, there is a danger of having a female character's primary role role/characteristic being the romantic interest. In one-off action movies it sometimes works but for long running series this can be lazy/bad writing, especially for a main female character, as it often reduces them to a damsel in distress or causes audiences to view them as useless(your Sakura example) But as you stated Oda's lack of focus doesn't prevent readers from interpreting it. Even back in the 2007 answer, Oda states that he address the who Nami likes question then as he got it a lot. And keep in mind even back in 2007 oda spent a lot of screentime exploring Nami's narrative role, and Namis relationship with Luffy ( and vice versa) regardless if you interpret romance or not.
Yep. Its not that he outright refuses it its just his focus is on the side of his story where he wants his characters to flourish in places that isnt tied down to that romantic side where its all the focus on them is about. He can def choose to write it romantically if he so chooses, but he doesnt believe at the current time to have the confidence to make it appealing without it harming the way he ahs written the characters. I think his writing can work bec his character writing is one of his strong suits and the relationship between the characters as well. In the end, he will decide whether or not he wants to incorporate into the characters, which at this time hes not really focused on.
