This use to be the main idle speed arm they always gave David to use as a spare they actually try very hard to have the regular truck 239 be David's regular truck instead of 221 but thankfully David didn't like this truck sense he couldn't manual revv 239 sense it would cut off mainly when he put 239 in natural and would hit the gas pedal the truck would not rev it would just stay at idle the other way 239 cut off the truck will rev but the arm would stop and wouldn't do anything into he left 239 back at full idle the last way 239 would cut off is after so many warnings 239 would turn off. I heard from Eli that 239 doesn't cut off anymore sense 239 can be manual revv without cutting off.

Finally glad you uploaded this I really miss my favorite EJ Harrison driver of all David I actually still keep wondering if David had not gotten sick with cancer and would had went his old plan retire when ever EJ Harrison retire his truck 221 which would be three years later on April 7,2023 but unknown if 221 would had last that long plus too bad David would had been a great risk of getting covid if he had stayed but I always will keep wondering if David would had stay into whenever EJ Harrison retire his truck 221 and what different trucks David would had gotten and without covid had never had happened.

Good still seeing new videos on these trucks. I unfortunately never got to film 757, but got to film 863. I like the little zip on 757, but that is terribly slow. I noticed 863 ran a lot better than most of the diesels I saw out there. Great video!
Thanks! I have a video of 757 that isn’t published yet of it free falling and revving a bit harder with some awesome transmission clanks. It was an awesome truck it just wasn’t driven to its full potential here. 863 definitely ran good. I think the best running one is saw though was 36859. I’m like 99% sure i filmed this on the same day you guys were there cuz the driver said he had been filmed earlier as well. I got 3 diesels on this day. These two and 36808. Should be seeing these trucks on this channel still for a little while
Nice video ! I regret not going over the summer for 863. I was so close to filming it that the day I went he was off . Damn 757 was slow but pretty cool . It’s crazy how over the months things have changed in the LA fleet . I’m glad 757 still around but they should have kept 863 also . It’s crazy how months ago they were still everywhere and now hardly seen expect for harbor . How you still got more LA videos !
Oh yes i think i have 14 or so LA videos privated still. 757 wasn’t being ran to its full potential on this day. The other time i filmed it it was a lot faster. I’m glad that truck is still going to get used as a trainer but sad it will never see a route again
Ahh good ol 791. Lots of memories with this thing back in 2020 when it used to be on my rout. I’ve always found this unit interesting. It sounds different from some of the other 520s and has a little scream from the arm break. Great video I’m glad to see this truck again!

Actually seems pretty mechanically sound tbh just a definite power loss compared to what it used to be. Only thing that I would say needs to get replaced is that one of rollers that extends the arm has a bad bearing. But that doesn’t take long

Thanks! Idk if you’ve noticed but i never stand in the trajectory of the lid. If i’m in line with the arm for a shot, the lid is always pointed sideways away from me and it’s for that exact reason. I’ve seen many lids get broken and know of one case where a lid was thrown about 20 feet.
Nice video ! Really digging these new trucks a lot . For some reason these trucks remind me of the dual fuel probably cos they lng and were brought 20 years later . I’m glad you like these new trucks really are smooth . A lot of drivers that driven these say they like them since they smooth . I like these better than the other 520s. Definitely glad LA is replacing the diesels with these although sad since they getting rid of them at a fast pace . Hope to see more of these trucks from you !
You'll definitely see more eventually. The other 520s definitely barely hold a candle to these as long as these stay fast. Good replacements for sure but definitely not as cool as what they are replacing
I frequently catch myself coming back and watching videos of this truck lol. Many many great memories with Ozzie revving this thing up. The takeoff at 3:55 reminds so many memories.
