Use (2) Renogy Rover 20amp Charge controllers ......you will get 40 amps !!! 4 Panels on each of course...... I hate Series ..... Give me AMPS Baby !!! LOL Been Running this for over a Year .
Chief hows it going? At least you have a sense of humor😂 I was watching theres lot of vids on a ion batteries bag they all failed in a test. Emp bags however were never tested.
I had done an older overview video but nothing recently. I should do a updated video and see if I can figure out what I paid for everything and what I saved on taxes over a couple of years. This system is really for when the lights go out, but it does run a Medium sized refrigerator in the basement full time. The money I save running that refrigerator is probably very limited.
It's probably a more expensive option and it might only be useful for if you're going to seal one of these cans up and bury them, but could you also use a conductive thermal paste on the seal between the cover and the case itself?
I have never seen conductive paste. Is it like a RTV but with conductive poverties, or similar to a anti seize compound. The can is probably more expensive but there is great durability.
HOWdy T-C-W-SOLAR , YUP I have 36 low powered pv panels ( 23 X 208-watt & 13 X 245-watt ) I have quite of bit of TREE PRUNING to do this fall 2024 Thanks COOP the WiSeNhEiMeR from Richmond, INDIANA 47374 ... ...
when my battery goes to 100%, I get a fault on my inverter. Seems like the MPPT is pushing too high of voltage for the inverter. Waiting on the manufacturer to respond but I'm baffled at the moment.
I want to do this Same 3s-2p configuration but my panels are mounted vertically and all 6 are side by side about 27 inches wide a piece. I'm trying to figure out how many extension cables I would need, etc
So the Jackery doesn't have a floating neutral? Cause my Ecoflow, while it has a hole for neutral, really has nothing in there, so the bond didn't work.
Sir can U please help my solar charger control stops to charge the battery at 26.4 everyday and I set it to stop charging at 27.6 because my system is 24v so it start U back the power that was saved during the day from 26.4 keep draining like that it stop charging around 14:00 pm as I have lots of panels?
If you have set the charge controller properly then I would suspect the problem is your battery is out of balance. The battery is out of balance enough that it can only achieve 26.4Vdc before the BMS cuts off charge because a single cell exceeds 3.65Vdc. Set your charge controller for 26.3vdc and it run there for about three weeks then slowly turn up the voltage by .1 or .2 every week till you can reach your desired voltage. I have two videos on balancing a battery and battery bank. Watch those two videos.
If you linked each port together + to - then you would have to have a panel pugged into each port our a bypass plug in each of the unused ports for it to work.
Not at all. I did another video where I took it apart and it's actually pretty heavy duty. I believe the issue is more with the charge controller. I think the charge controller doesn't function well at 18Vdc and high current. I now use the panels in a 3S configuration at 54Vdcish, low current and it bangs.
hi sir, i have the same mppt charge controller as you do in this video. the battery level on my mppt and the battery level on my power inverter dont agree with each other. which one should i trust? the mppt says the battery is at 80 percent and the inverter says my battery is at 30 percent? does this make any sense to u?
I would definitely trust the charge controller to a point. The duty of the charge controller is to monitor the battery voltage and stop charging when it is full based on the battery type you had selected. The Renogy charge controllers do show about .1 to .2vdc low so keep that in mind.
HOWdy T-C-W, ... Thanks = your videos are Always instructive & Helpful ... also = it makes me grateful that HARBOR-FREIGHT finally decided to OPEN a store in my East Central INDIANA City ! thank you for this VIDEO = I have utilized this Split LOOM protection on occasion 🙂 ... I did cut off the SAE Connector on most of my panels and replaced them with the more common MC4 Connector. See this Video on how I did it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KSOZrKYkOlE.html
Would a 4 panel setup in series, times 2, then parallel both 4 panel groups I'm doing this with 4 panels...I got white pvc pipe in 10 ft sections, and snake the wire through to keep out moisture and sunlight from the wire & SAE connections
Yes you can connect the panels that way. That is a 4S 2P configuration. See my Video below on 3S Configuration but just use 4 panels. Just be aware that your open circuit voltage (VOC) will be about 88Vdc, and the full sun voltage (MPPT) will be about 72Vdc if using 100Watt Panels. Make absolutely sure you charge controller can handle that high of a voltage. I will be doing a 4S video this summer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wh-JdIQfAZ4.html
I have a 30 amp mppt controller: rated at 96v max & 400 watts max for a 12v system, I have 4 of these panels, and have recorded the Volts & amps so far. These panels are the newer Harbor Freight 500w & not the older 300w panels. These are 6.2 Amp & 18 or 19 Volt max panels. My panels have gone to 6.2A and 14.8V so far, but stable at 5.3A & 14.2V during charging and usage (21.3A & 14.2V) Total of 4 X 100W panels. This is a great emergency power source.
