Hi! This is an older video and Elizabeth Craft Designs no longer carries these dies. But, Susan Tierney-Cockburn, who designed these dies, now works with Spellbinders Paper Arts so you might check with them to see if there is a version of the peony in that line now. I hope that helps!

You're a genius. I snipped along the bottom, only way more times than you did. I used your technique with the tape wrapped tightly around the bottom but then I added a thicker tape on top of that tape to fold the tiny snip pieces in place. Then, just to be sure, I taped the bottom and they turned out beautiful. Thanks for the idea! And thanks for sharing..🙂

Thank you so much!! I need to let you know, however, that due to a change that Cricut made to Cricut Design Space a few months ago, you are no longer able to print from any machine in Cricut Design Space. You now have to own a larger machine to do it. But, I have an updated version already filmed that will be available on RU-vid on Monday, July 15. If you want to see if before that, it will debut at the Create with Cricut Joy summit that is free and happening July 11 - 14. It will be shown on the 11th there (or you can watch it now with a VIP Pass). If you're interested, you can sign up for the free summit at createwithcricutjoy.com No pressure - just want to let you know. I hope that helps! 😊

I have made several of the sublimation tumblers that turned out great. The only thing about the tumblers that I don’t like is they don’t keep the drinks cold for long. They are not like the Yeti type of tumblers that keep the ice 🧊 stay for hours and even overnight.
@BlackSheep303Crafts

I know what you mean. I love the Yeti tumblers that keep the ice for hours and hours. There has to be a stainless steel tumbler that can be used for sublimation that has the same insulating factor out there somewhere. Hopefully I'll find it one day. Fingers crossed!

I don’t like cricut’s planned obsolescence policies. Early adopters of all things Cricut really got burned. I spent thousands on now useless tech.
@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 22 дня назад
If your talking about all those cartridges, I can totally relate. Unfortunately, anything technology-related moves so fast that obsolescence is inevitable. Cricut is far from the only company that does this. Most computers, tablets, phones, etc. aren't supported after a certain number of years. Same with Silhouette and ScanNCut machines. But, I admit, Cricut has a sneaky way of constantly changing things in Design Space too to try and force you to shell out more $.

The only machine I know of off the top of my head that will cut things without being attached to a computer/device is the ScanNCut. It comes pre-loaded with fonts that you can write things out with. You can also add designs to it, like the silhouettes you're talking about, via a thumb drive. It has some shapes/silhouettes on it too but I don't know if those would be what you need. If there are other machines that you can use without a computer, hopefully someone that comes across this comment will let you know.

Thanks for showing the two different techniques of cleaning the mat and reglueing the mat. So often, people ask how to make their mat sticky again and they are told to strip off all the sticky and restick, when all they actually need to do is either give it a wipe with a baby wipe or give it a quick wash to refresh the sticky. 💜

@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 2 месяца назад
No, I'm afraid having to own a print then cut machine to connect to it to do the printing is a change that Cricut made to Design Space recently. This video is a couple of years old so that was not a problem until just a few months ago. I am working on an updated version of this video to get around that but it will be a month or more until I get it out. Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to connect to a machine you don't own/have registered with Design Space.

@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 3 месяца назад
Unfortunately, Cricut updated Design Space a couple of months ago so that you can't just pick any machine. You can only pick machines that you have personally registered to your account. I'm not sure if they are trying to make people buy a larger machine in addition to the Joy or what, but it's a very unfortunate change. So, yes, this hack doesn't completely work anymore. I plan to do an updated version soon but you are correct that right now, you are no longer able to select any machine to do the printing part of the hack. If you do own a larger machine, then you can select that one but if not, you are out of luck on that part of the hack. I'm sorry.

Thanks so much! Unfortunately, Cricut has changed Design Space since I filmed this and you are no longer able to choose any machine to do the Print part for the stickers. If you already own a Maker or Explore series machine that is registered in Cricut Design Space, then it will work for you. If not, you're going to have to print the stickers and rectangle out using another program like Word. The easiest way to do that is to add the sticker images into the rectangle in Canva and download it as a different image from the plain rectangle, then print it (make sure the size stays the same) using another program. Then you'll have to upload that image to Design Space as a Cut file, remove the background, add an offset around the sticker parts if you want to and then cut them out. Do that part after drawing the rectangle on your mat. I hope that all makes sense. I will have an updated version of the video out soon.

@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 3 месяца назад
That is a pretty big problem and I'm not sure there is a way to get that off, to be honest. It's supposed to be a permanent bond with fabric so not sure about the plastic of the mat. You could try using a chemical de-sticker to attempt to remove it like Undu. Pour some on there, let it sit for a bit and then use a scraper to try and get it off. That's the only thing I can think of that might work. Good luck!

@BlackSheep303Crafts yw. I think I've also learned through watching yt.... that on the htvront that maybe a little higher heat and a tiny bit higher time...I did 390 at 90 and 90 on that tumbler (so far the only one I've done) and like I said it was absolutely perfect other then the seam which was my fault and me just learning how to do things.... not the equipments fault. I am going to try the next one at 390 and 180 seconds with no turn and see what happens.... but I'm nervous... I'm terrified of fires, so putting something into something that hot for too long scares me. But I watched a video and they did it and it was fine, and there were no issues whatsoever
@theJenhha99
@theJenhha99 3 месяца назад
Oh, I forgot....I also wanted to say that I watched a yt video....I can not for the life of me remember which one because it wasn't like just today, lol.... but the person was having the typical issues people keep complaining of with the htvront, so they reached out to the company about it, and they had recommended a time and temp... which is where I came up with the 390 at 90 and 90.... the company told her 180 seconds continuous press, but I was too scared for my very first tumbler to do that since literally everyone else turns halfway through.... but.... they all have a press that does not close all the way also.... this one literally closes completely. The 180 second press worked great on the channel, and she had no issues that she had previously been having....ghosting and top and bottom edge issues.... it turned out perfect.... so that's where I came up with my time and temp. That, combined with the taping video, is what I contribute to (what I'm going to call successful), first tumbler being a success on a press that everyone else is having issues with. Enough heat, not too much or too little time, and a good tape job....I feel like that is the success with this press, and I'm glad I chose this press. I have autoimmune issues and a lot of pain, especially in my hands with swelling, and it affects my grip and strength sometimes... that's why I chose this press for my first (and hopefully only) press. I was going to get a cheaper one that you had to put more physical work into (like turning halfway through and physically having to adjust the pressure and pull the handle down) but I told my husband about this one and the perks and the disadvantages that others were having issues with and he told me to spend the little extra money (it was on sale and was only like $10 or so higher then the other press, lol) on what would make my life easier. He felt that it being pretty much fully automatic was a huge plus for me and worth the little extra money..... and I agree 100% with him, lol

Hiiii I have a question!! You mentioned something about “work around” when it comes to clear acrylic or glass. What does that mean!? I’m waiting on my machine to arrive !!
@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 3 месяца назад
The easiest work around is to paint the clear acrylic or glass with a tempura paint in a dark color like black, gray, purple. Then engrave it and wash the paint off. Diode lasers can't "see" clear material so the paint allows the laser to know where to engrave on the surface. There are a couple of other methods too. Here's a good video from Steve Makes Everything that is an overview of the methods: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PHcIfzcVLxo.html I hope that helps. Have fun with your new laser!!!

Hey thank you for the video. When I cut my sticker paper matte it always cut through instead of kiss cut. I have tried all the setting. When am I going wrong. Please suggest.
@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 4 месяца назад
Fixing this will require a bit of testing so you'll need to use some scratch/already printed on/inexpensive sticker paper while testing. But here's my suggestion - With your sticker project active in Silhouette Studio, go to the Send tab and check the settings. I'm assuming you have the material set on some type of Sticker Paper and are still having this problem (and are using a Camoe 4?). If not, change that setting first (Sticker Paper, White is usually a good one if using plain sticker paper). If that's what you're set on for material, then check the settings for Blade Depth and Force. Sometimes I have to click the gray More button in the lower right of the section for Carriage 1 on the right-hand settings panel to see the Blade Depth setting. Once you can see both settings, I would start by decreasing the blade depth by 1 (click the arrow on the left to reduce the depth) and then try cutting. If that doesn't fix it, try decreasing it again by 1. If that still doesn't work, try reducing the Force by 2 and try again. Basically, you'll need to keep trying modifications to those two settings until you get the kiss cut you're looking for. Generally, Blade Depth is going to be the problem before Force but it can be a combo of the two, It will require some patience but you'll get it worked out and get some great experience with setting adjustments. 😁

Well, all of these can cut strips if you add the size of strip you need into the software programs as a rectangle for example and then duplicate the shape for the number you need. But an inexpensive way to do that would be with a paper trimmer. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by strips?

Hello. I was happy to find this and now my question. Craft with Sarah shows how to make a flat Mandala image into a 3D layered Svg in Design Space using the contour tool. As a Scan n cut user, what is the equivalent to that tool? I was referred to you by Abbi who says you are familiar with both programs. I'm a subscriber of yours and have my fingers crossed. I've searched the web for this answer. You are my last hope.
@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 5 месяцев назад
Hi! Unfortunately, there isn't a tool in Canvas Workspace that is as easy to use as the Contour tool in Cricut Design Space. You can do the same type of project but you'd need to duplicate the shape, probably several times, and then delete the paths/nodes on each shape to create the different layers. You can do that by selecting the first shape and double clicking on it. That will open the Path Editing Tools on the top toolbar (on the desktop version), and then delete the nodes creating the paths you do not want to cut on each shape. It's more complicated than Design Space that will just let you hide the paths you don't want to cut with the Contour tool, but it can be done. I can't find any good tutorials that show this on RU-vid, so you've given me an idea for a video I can make. But in the meantime, you might check this one out; it's pretty long and not covering exactly what you're looking for but particularly around 26:55 when she starts editing the inside shapes on the butterfly that will give you an idea of how to do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n6J4Yq9097A.html I hope that helps!

@BlackSheep303Crafts
@BlackSheep303Crafts 5 месяцев назад
The question is cut off but I'm guessing you're asking if layering the vinyl affects the durability of it on the shirt. If you're using a high quality HTV and not overheating it in a way that would effect the glue, it should remain stuck when layered just as long as it will as only one layer. I have had circumstances when I was first starting out where some of the layers on top started to peel off the lower layers but that was really user error (I didn't heat it long enough or heated it too long) and not because of the layering itself. I hope I answered your question. If my guess is wrong about what you were asking, please let me know. Thanks!

This video cleared up a lot for me; ive put over 40 hoyrs now into researching these machines, i.e, the cameo, cricut explore/maker/joy/joyextra, as well as the curio by silhouette. Ive looked at some HVTL machines that dont even compare to any of these above. I have a focus on stickers, a subfocus on handmade products, which includes stickers, and being able to make stickers featuring a collection of independent artists. This is why the Scan n Cut is appealing to me. However, it begs the question, why not just get my own scanningg equipment seperately and get the cameo? As a former data analyst and jr software dev, ive learned how important it is to keep your data secure and viable. In this way, i wanted to reduce how much "connection" i have with these subscription based services and if at all, id like a machine that can work without usage of the internet. To me, this seems like a long term machine that can benef8t a lot of focus groups as well as being independently driven. It shows me that while there may be updates in the future, this tech was built to last without it. Its what scares me with Cricut technology, as its based in Jordan. Like the country Jordan. It seems like certain updates make certain features obsolete or confusing, and new equipment makes old equipment obsolete. I do not get that vibe from silhoette or Brother technology. Im posting this because this video helped me a lot, and i have spent a lot of research. I am someone who doesnt know anything about graphic design, but i have a lot of knowledge in marketing and business to know that this is a rising market, and i want in on it.
