Now I understand the different width. I've never made one of these before and I'm still waiting on the rapid fire ruler to show up. Very good instructions. One thing I can't figure out and have never asked. Why does everyone call it "setting the seam" when they press sewn fabric? You're not setting the seam, you are relaxing the threads so that you can either press open or to the side easily. To me, pressing the seam open or closed is setting it. Good videos.
This video may be from 6 years ago, but it is the best video out there to join the ends of your binding. I refer to this video every time. Thank you so much!!!😎🧵🍁
Finally! I’ve been searching for embroidered wall hanging instructions. I just couldn’t decide if I should embroider with the batting or add the batting afterwards. I guess you could do either or, but this showed me how it work with quilt as you go. Thank you.
Fabulous! The "sweeping the fabric under" technique is a far better solution than what I've been doing (I've been pressing the edges under, starching and pressing again (it is an extremely time consuming, labor intensive approach). I WILL try your "sweeping under" technique; it looks fun and much more satisfying when appliqueing! Many thanks for this video. I'm headed to my sewing room to cut out motifs and background fabric to start practicing (I can't just sit and watch t.v. in the evening with my husband; I must have something to work on - I know a lot of you ladies feel the same way. It's the perfect time to hone my skills!). I absolutely Love Broderie Perse Quilts, and I'm getting ready to start my first one with vintage fabric images (1940's fabric of Alice in Wonderland). I can't wait to get started on it, but first, I MUST practice the "sweep the edges" technique. I do believe it will be fun. Many thanks again for taking the time to show us your Embroidery Perse technique. ❤
Just came across your beautiful patterns on Pinterest. Gorgeous work! Would be great to be able to get some detailed class online for us who live far away! Thank you for the video!
