My Scorpio with 2.2 MHawk is going strong with 568000 kms without any issues . Mechanically very very strong and sturdy especially engine and gearbox !!!
they nearly the same price and weight as a real off road van and you have to setup and pack up---and soooooo tiny inside, i cant see why someone would choose this over a full van unless it was like $35k
Tend to agree with some of your comments, the weight is a real downside for its size. Set up and pack up doesn't take long, I average around 20 mins for a full set up, less for pack up. A full size would be quicker. Pricing is 60 new. I couldn't find a full size with double bunks and ensuite anywhere near that.
Can u put a four inch lift kit in them? Wats it like to tow? Can u put a five post bullbar on it? Can u make it sound decent? Wanna no if it worth buying or not cause it will go to ute musters if I do
Can't go a 4 in, can tow 2.5 braked and it did it well. I have seen one with a 5 post on it, sound decent, what do you mean? The 2.2 purrs. It was an awesome little runaround ute for me. It did 60000kms with no issues and heaps of sand runs.
Copy that - just traded my Ice metallic LTZ on a ZR2 in Dark Ash - looks nice in the sun but is dark in every other situation so I’m not sold on it yet.
Most of Kings stuff is Cheap crap not worth buying, you might save money when buying from them initially but nothing will last long and you will end up forking out extra $$$$ to replace. Better of buying better Quality gear from other shops and stay clear of kings
Hey Mate, we just bought a very similar van, its an altitude 15b. We only have a 2020 Pajero sport, how do you think it will go towing it? The sport is standard so no extra weight or anything.
I know the Van, whats the Paj rated at? I think it'll pull it ok. You will definitely know its there though. We have upgrade our tow vehicle for comfort while towing.
@TwoCrabsAdventures yeah the Pajero is rated to 3100 and 300kg ball weight. I have redarc electric brakes. I know I can't just hook up 3100 tho haha. The van has a tare of 2320. We will mostly travel within 500ks of home for a while until I'm used to it and maybe upgrade the suspension in the sport.
Thanks for review! I have bought a tanami x15 .. have not taken her out yet. I was wondering .. did you cover the gap between the awning and the van when it was raining,.. I have what looks like a gap cover and was trying to see how you may have set it up & used it ?
im building much the samething except mines going to be out of aluminium. loaded and ready to go its going to weigh 900kgs or around there from what iv calculated. i do like the MT1 from kings dont get me wrong but 1000kgs tare for a camper is ridiculous and if i wasnt building my own id probably still buy one. definetly better then the black series patron i used to own.
Thanks for the review. I’ve been looking at those campers since a bloke down the road in Burleigh had a friend turn up with one. Just a bit worried about all the rain that got through to the outdoor kitchen. Can the canvas be beefed up to fix that? Cheers
Ive since sold the MT1, it was great however not suited to my growing family. I didn't have an awning on mine and would recommend one if you plan on using in the rain.
I reckon that trailer would be good to build upon considering some trailers costs just as much as a 24ft caravan these days. I’d start upgrading with better quality stuff where needed. Kings isn’t the worst but it’s not far from it in terms of brand name camping gear but the trailer chassis itself looks pretty tough
Hey there. Just come across your channel. New sub here. Thought you might like to look at my channel and review of kings rooftop tent for fitting siricco 2 fan and light. Cheers Out There Touring
Mr adtoe i know you love a bit of mud, but in ya car mate!!!!! with young sebby in there too this is why you cant have nice things. at least you didn't take your shitbox mahindrah out, that thing would of blown and ended up like that car you found
Looks good! Have you been out in it recently? How does it perform offroad? We also have a sandy 79 and looking into vans at the moment. Relaxing that's what you're supposed to do - my wife would have said the exact same thing hahaha
I know everyone does this but really it’s not a good idea. Putting anything in front of the grille(like lights) it doesn’t take a lot of thought to place them somewhere else like on a bracket upside down. Thanks for saying your height, I’m 6’4” ant find most Asian cars uncomfortable smallish)
Thanks for the feedback George, Ive sold the Mahindra but it was an awesome car did 30000kms in itand didnt miss a beat. If you like the Mahindra's, take one for a drive. I dont think your height would be a problem in them.
