Hello and thank you for the test. I don't understand. The electronic zoom does not work with the 28-70? It's a shame... Also, why should you use the counterweight? I have the 18-105 from Sony and the zoom is electronic and I don't need a counterweight (it's only 43g lighter than the 28-70).
I just won an auction on eBay the first camera I will have in 16 years. I live in a rural isolated area with no one to talk to you so I'm definitely going to be relying on all of y'all to learn more about my setup and to build a rig. The camera is not coming with a battery charger or a lens or memory card. I spent 5 grand which is more than I paid for my own vehicle I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time. It's a used camera does anybody know if I can get insurance on a used camera and of course is it necessary? 😅
For everyone running into issues, maybe this helps: I bought the sigma 28-70, for Sony E. I had trouble using the focus motor as zoom motor. However, after updating the E-mount to the latest firmware - it now works after initializing the focus motor and selecting the focal length in the main menu. So: -Update the Ronin 4D -Update the E-mount -Initialize the focus motor and select the focal length in the menu This worked for me!
I enjoyed watching your video. I started loosing interest when you mentioned that the set-up was heavy. overall good camera and review. I may buy as this is a step up from what I currently have.
Keep up the good work man love the videos! Are you able to pull focus manually via the native L mount? Is that how you are getting around using the motor for zoom?
Thanks for the video! The flex cable is super short, but you can stack another one. Josh did a test on the Make Art Now RU-vid channel. I wonder if the new lidar is compatible. It has a better range.

What is the size of the Tilta Focus Gear Ring? I'm having trouble finding the measurements? I don't have this lens to measure it, but want to buy it for this setup.
Congratulations on purchase. I want to buy some cine lenses for narrative films. What lenses have you managed to test out that give some sort of character? and what lenses give it that cinematic quality? Any help appreciated

I find that my zoom lens does not work with the focus motor anymore due to it recognizing that it’s an autofocus lens. Did you have issues with this? I was using tamron 28-75
I found this so helpful! I’m using the 17 - 28 DJI - I find it’s really noisy and it’s just to wide! I’m having to shoot in super 35 just to get that extra reach. Your review has made it clear this will be super helpful! Did you find the focus works ok? My experience with the E mount for DJI was horrendous but I really want to be able to work with something like this. ❤
Great contents and wonderful video! Really helpful! For the issue of the length of the extension cable, a good solution is to use two cables connecting each other and reach a maximum of 6 meters!
Good day, when it comes to the auto-focus, is it plug & play like the DL lenses? No need to calibrate and will work at any zoom level (which is an issue with most Sony zooms for the Ronin 4d)?
