Yeah, this is a cool song! We rarely ever play it but I wanted to make a video out of it. I thought it would surprise alot of people. Many who havent heard it in years!
I agree! haha! When I created this channel I posted pretty much never. I didnt pick it up until 2019. So Ive built it up a little since then. I have another channel that I post way more often ru-vid.com/show-UC64u1YyhQ8riboBagmqSEEQ I think this channel would get more views if I was more active. But I post on my other channel with my wife more :)
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words! If you are looking for more music I have another channel with my wife. We post tons of music on that channel all the time :) www.youtube.com/@NikandJoemusic
Thank you so much I appreciate it! I dont post much acoustic music on this account. I have another account that I post all the time with my wife. Were @nikandjoemusic if you are looking for more music :) www.youtube.com/@NikandJoemusic
Wow, thank you so much! We really appreciate the nice comment. We have an entire channel with a ton of acoustic music located at : ru-vid.com?app=desktop I bet you will find some other songs you really like there also :)
@@lovetheninesnot many people know but soon out of high school LaDonna Gaines joined the musical Hair... In Germany ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GKuaQrOK1KU.htmlsi=cpCevA1jpqiQBGyw
Wow, I bet not many people know that. I had no idea! Thats why having a youtube channel is cool, people let you in on all kinds of things you may not have learned otherwise! :)
Yeah sorry buddy. Im a musician first camera man second. I wish the video was more stable but I didnt notice until the next day or I wouldve fixed it. This was during covid times and getting everyone together was a real tough job. We couldnt just go back the next day and re do it unfortunately, we had alot of strict covid rules unfortunately. You live and you learn and Im glad I at least got something from that jam session.
Thank you! Ill probably redo this one at some point now that things are more back to normal. Ill keep the camera away from the sub woofer next time haha!
Me too! Yeah we dont use a keyboard player never have. We play on alot of small stages and alot of times keys takes up as much space as a drummer. Were all for bands using the instrumentation that is best for them. Its one less person to pay and worry if they are going to show up to the gig lol. Alot of bands go without keyboard players these days.
@@Uninspirational Yes for my business I choose not to use a keyboard player. Give the other players more money and not have to make room for them. The crowds we play for just want to dance and have a good time. They dont mind.
Yes we do not use a keyboard player. We use some backing tracks, helps with a click track and its one less person we have to get to the gig!! haha! But mostly keyboard players take up a lot of space too!
Thank you! Yeah this is one hell of a song! We just played it last Saturday as the last dance of the night. The crowd went crazy! It was so much fun :)
Yeah I have always used backing tracks. It started when I didnt want to devote stage space to a keys player. They take up as much room as a drummer. I also wanted to pay everyone the max I could and not having horns or keys allowed me to do that making my players happy. I have done thousands of weddings, thats what we specialize in. I will always use tracks, the music is alot more consistent night in and night out.
@@lovethenines sounds good. 1:07 I didn’t see you playing the gtr riff in the song either. Sure you know what you’re doing, I like the flexibility of changing songs on the fly and keeping the beat going for announcements etc between songs and not having to worry the track matches up. Down side is dealing with more idiots in the band though. No silver bullet.
I also miss being able to change songs on the fly. If you are feeling a guitar solo you can cue the band to give you some extra time. Also you can interact with the crowd easier if you are not using a click. I agree strongly on that part. I can still switch songs on the fly easily. But the pros of using a click with backing tracks far exceed the cons for me. Removing a human or two from the mix is worth its weight in gold. We are a for profit situation, we only play music to make money and having less mouths to feed is a must. Managing humans can be rewarding but can also be a nightmare. I can play the guitar a little bit. Im not Eric Johnson but I can do the job and most importantly I get the money haha! Seriously though, I support myself only playing music. Proud of that. I appreciate you taking the time to connect and comment on our music! :)
Whats wrong with the lyrics? This song is pretty loose and most people at a private party dont even know the words. Heck I dont even know the words and Ive been playing this song all my life lol.
@@lovethenines The lyric is "A chick walks by you wish you could sex her" and the dude has to self-censor himself from saying the word "sex", for one example. If you're going remake the song, don't censor yourself!
@@lovethenines The lyric is "A chick walks by you wish you could sex her.." Don't be afraid of the word "sex". If you're going to remake the song, go all the way & sing it right!
Ahh. I get it. Yes you are correct. The singer in this situation worked for me. I asked him specifically to keep the songs PG. We play a ton of family events so as a rule we keep everything pretty clean. I also wouldnt post a song with bad language on this site either as this band is "for hire" and our main goal is to make money. Although if someone looked hard they may find a swear word in a song or two here lol. But It could turn a client off to hear cussing etc. I like to turn clients on :) That way I can make that money. Yeah thats probably the bigger discussion... Do you make music and videos for yourself and do whatever you like? Or do you make videos for a client and keep it clean? Ill always keep it clean so I have a better chance of getting the gig :)
@@lovethenines When you name check "Poindexter" in a song, the only thing you can rhyme it with is "sex her". Your clients will be offended by that? If you don't say it, the song just sounds weird, like the singer didn't practice enough. Or......maybe you can rhyme "Poindexter" with "Hester", as in Hester Prynne. Maybe your crowds think she got what she deserved.
I know right! I think Nik and I mustve said that to each other about 100 times while learning this one. This was the first time playing it live with all the kids in the same room. Came out pretty good!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words. Yes I do also love this song, not many have heard it these days. Its good to bring it back and remind everyone how good it was :)
Yeah that would work out fine. I think sometimes we even do it that way. This is one that we all play slightly different from time to time since we've played it so many times :)
Thank you so much for stopping by! We really appreciate you checking us out and leaving a comment :) I have another channel that I post more often at @nikandjoemusic Most of my new music gets posted there!
Thank you! We appreciate the kind words! Also we have another channel with alot more music located @nikandjoemusic Definitely stop by there if you have a chance :)
