Well, as an engineer and legal litigator, I would not call this Engineering. This is rather careful pre-condition prompting, and a method to convey to ChatAI how to do something in a more precise form. This technician work, not engineering.
I think we need immediate laws to stop AI using public web sites and public repositories to train data. 99.99% people who used public repositories didn't know one day someone going to use their data by a super non human brain to train it's model. I will explain this with an example. This is like one person get super power and whenever he enter a restaurant all other people in the restaurant get frozen. Legally he is not doing anything wrong. He enter a restaurant and he eat and leave. But when restaurant owner and other people expected normal current circumstances when he enter his restaurant (web site/ public repositories). Law should be changed to stop doing more than what users/(restaurant owner expected) to do under normal circumstances. Trained models using public repositories should be banned .
Agree. Although it does go through periods where it seems to be a little funky. Overall, I use it for any sort of question and answer and stick to ChatGPT for drafting and GPT assistant creation.

well executed video. 11 months further down the line this concept still holds up. the onyl gigantic flaw in all of this is GPT4's measly 4096 token window. recently gemini 1.5 came out with a whooping 1M token window. the context it can grasp is astonishing.
It is crazy to think how much has happened over the last year. The token window is perhaps the most important factor until we can create GPT tools that are trained on our proprietary data. The way I think about it is that the context window is context for the AI tool to run-on. But once we can create high performance AI tools trained on our own data, the possibilities are going to become incredible.

As a pro per I have had issues in legal research. When using Chat GPT it makes up cases but now there is Chat GPT Law. I would love to learn how to do research and get case law.
Which application are you using for law? A lot of these are just third-party apps which only run the ChatGPT model through the API. I would never trust any of these third-party companies unless they have been thoroughly vetted. Of course, the best legal research tool remains to be Westlaw, which has got some AI baked into it, but I would expect to see some AI-enabled research tools which have access to legal databases in the near future.
@@TraverseAI Westlaw would be great if not for the subscription cost. As a pro per, seeking the free AI to research is important. Trying to find citations is the most difficult thing a pro per needs.

sometimes it is so easy to get lost in all of the information exhibits depositions and records. I really helped me step back and see the big picture and then express the key winning arguments in a way that were compelling and understandable.
A lot of business professionals and lawyers dabble in ChatGPT quickly, concluding that they aren’t getting any value. What they failed to realizes that using these tools requires a set of skills, the right strategy, and most importantly the right mindset. Granted, I am at the top of the food chain understanding how to best use these tools and have the right prompt engineering skills to 10 X at work. The main point is that all business professionals need to start building their skill set understanding the right strategy and developing the right mindset to use AI at work to compete and win.
Great question. Our firm has started its migration to Microsoft 365 so that we can get all of our client and firm data in a common database copilots really slow, inaccurate and weak at this point, but it will improve over time. We are betting on Microsoft in the enterprise space.
Enrico, can you please post a video or provide an update with where ChatGPT currently stands with security of sensitive/privileged information? As I am sure you know, Casetext CoCounsel prioritizes this aspect of it, but of course is significantly more expensive… I would much rather pay $20/mth than $250/mth, but am concerned about being limited due to the inherent security risks with open AI…. Is ChatGPT at least comparable with security yet?
Great question. Of course, with all these companies there’s always some risk of data breach or other security flaw. But I have been able to get access to the private security and privacy documents that open AI keeps behind a firewall. They realize that data security is one issue they have to get right in order to survive. I’ve never seen a company with this level of security protocols this early and its business life cycle. As long as you are using ChatGPT plus, opting out of data training or using chat, GPT teams you are or more secure than your other cloud. Service providers.

thanks for your comment. There are so many tools in the content, generation image generation, and SEO space is nearly infinite. I do agree that lawyers will need to add volume to their businesses because they are able to do more and less time. That means they’re gonna need more clients. Web leads may be more important than ever.

CoCounsel by CaseText is very impressive. it’s being integrated into Westlaw. For those who have the budget I would recommend scheduling a test drive and determining whether or not the ROI is going to be there for your workflow. ChatGPT GPTs can approximate some of this functionality for $20 a month. So it’s all about ROI.
spell book is a closer call. For contract, drafting, transactional attorneys, have a fairly well established set of templates and approaches. Well, I do think that spell book can add value for many transactional attorneys, it is gonna be more important to change the workflow and work habits in order to get value. again, there is going to be a cost component which will affect the decision for many law firms.

People underestimate the importance of developing the necessary skills and mindset for proper use of Chachi, PT and other AI tools. They want to ask a question and get results. Unfortunately, that’s not the way large language models work. The old adage, garbage and garbage out applies.
All this is, is they are worried about the common man who is already mad and learning the law to fight back. AI can improve that even more. Judges are not legislators and people should learn and consider administrative actions in their research, just a thought.
You are singing to the choir brother. With every new technology, the court system, and Barber associations fight like crazy supposedly to protect consumers. But the reality is they are just trying to protect outdated systems, which no longer work and screw the client. Fortunately, they have never been able to stop any new technology from taking hold and providing power to the client.
I use ChatGPT plus and build out a custom GPT for that specific purpose. I make sure all my security settings are set correctly so the information I upload and input isn’t used for training. Right now, open AI ChatGPT is still the most reliable and best tool available.
