Now We in Australia have some so called expert Dr. Vincent calling out for fat Santa's to be banned in our shopping centres. W T F?! May be we should then ban all Fat sods from entering? Apparently it gives an unhealthy message. lol Please! We are all intelligent enough to deciper meanings on our own way. Australia is becoming more of a Nanny country. God help us all.
This talk is a vital one, in speaking of our own wounds when we come to our work with others. The other thing I am so often reminded of in listening with gratitude to B.J.'s work, is that some of us are very tender, empathetic, perhaps sometimes even melancholy. We don't have to be "tough as nails" to do this work and I would suggest those of us with the extraordinarily open hearts, are uniquely called to this work and need not be afraid of it. Dr. Miller shows us this lesson with his courage to touch, feel and love so deeply.
So true, I have believed these same ideas because of my mother always talked like you do. You are teaching bravery, courage to feel, to be open to not know to not label, to experience. All your principles are admirable and very much needed. I practiced Zen buddhism and learned later Christian Science is very similar. My mom was both. You wear your wounds on your sleeve. So many of us wear them hidden underneighth. You are authentic and rea and so compassionate, handsome and beautiful soul all into one human. Thank you,, and I studied Art HIstory as well...synchronicity. LOL
I, simply love Dr. BJ💕 knowledgeable in what is ‘our final days’. What a gift he professes, to acknowledge and accept EVERY stage of our lives, and the later years
What an amazing Physician. When one listens to him you have to hang onto every word he speaks otherwise you will miss some great insights as his messages are so profound. I have always been of the view that when life becomes not worth living there's no point in prolonging it but listening to his compelling arguments for extending life in a dignified manner I'm not so sure of my conviction anymore. The problem is B. J. Miller is a rare breed of healthcare provider in desperately short supply and therein lies the problem. My selfish prayer for myself is that I have someone like him at my side when my time is up. He speaks mildly of his disability but in truth he's more able that most people with all their faculties intact. Listening to him has become an addiction for me. I would love to meet him someday.
My disability steered me to find my ability. Everything that I do that I love is something I would not have ever really probably done if I could have still done what I was doing. I have reinvented myself so many times that I'm starting to feel like Madonna. Good talk.
