I am looking at your commands..../fastboot delete-logical-partition system_ext_b 89 What is the 89 for and why is it on a separate line? do I need to include 89? does it go in a separate line or right after b? Thank you for the informative video.
The fact that I’ve been trying to figure this out for almost a year now blows my mind. I had the same issue and it worked ! My Nintendo is working now !
For me it kinda is dead. Mostly due to time constraints in my life which prevent me from sitting down and tinkering. The discord channel is full steam ahead though from the looks of it. All channels are lit up with recent updates.
Uh, so I noticed that every time I plug in the adapter to the dock, the light starts blinking. I also noticed that my switch DOES charge out of the dock with just the charger...Any tips?
if you have watched the video and checked the charging port for bent pins, cleaned the ports on the dock and the switch (use something plastic or wood). then I would say try another dock.
I created a hotspot on my phone, and there weren't many websites I was able to get to. Full video here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4ZmyjN2rC_I.html
i just updated my duo from developer option and i think it's bricked the boot is showing , and it's not even working , i showed it in the mobile store and they are saying it's boot menu is locked , something oem is locked can you please help me , it's a genuine request
absolutely. I love talking about neat stuff like this. It's a lot quicker to set up than a vm and seems to take less resources. Thank you for watching.
Hi. Been a bit silly and loaded DSU sideloader onto a spare Duo 2 to install the Android 14 rom but forgot to flash the memory first. Now not starting so is there a way I can Android 12 fresh connecting to a windows machine? Thanks. Malcolm.
A device like this should be instant-on. And thus a Pi 0 is not ideal to run it. You see it on boot, the hefty boot time is a bigger problem than you might think. You need a microcontroller with proper low-energy state. The RP2040 on it could be just enough. Although it lacks internet/BT. This is where NXP chips come in, 600MHz dual-core 32 bit microcontrollers with plenty of RAM and connectivity and low-power modes. Combined with the Sharp Memory display we basically have a Playdate. So you could as well go buy a Playdate. No hacking keyboard, but if you want to play Snake, you're covered. For portable hacking, just go and get a Tandy model 100 or Olivetti M10. Way cooler, decent keyboard, and proper size display. It weighs more than a Macbook, but who cares.
Great points and a good idea for future videos. I do not plan on hacking but using this for a portable MP3 player and to play snake have been pretty cool.
if it is just the lock code you have forgotten check this link out for more info. (I take no responsibility for bricked devices. I am not really sure. I have found some links and it looks like the R series its where it's at. reactual.com/portable-electronics/toughest-laptop.html#:~:text=If%20you%20need%20a%20laptop%20that%20can%20survive,Latitude%20Rugged%20Extreme%20stands%20up%20to%20MIL-STD-810G%20testing. www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops-and-notebooks/sf/rugged-laptops
Thanks for the info and have installed Android 14 on a spare Surface Duo 2. How do I install the updates? Do I place them into the system folder for a fresh instal or can I update from within the Android 14 environment on the Duo? Thanks. Malcolm
There is an update button in the specialized menu, but I was never able to get them to work. There are instructions on the github, but I followed @scaryifliteral 's videos to update.
Thanks for the progress reports on Thais efforts and have now installed Android 14 on a spare Surface Duo 2. I notice there are 2 updates for this in a .zip format. Do you have an instructional video on how to upgrade these, either from within the Android 14 environment, or from a windows machine to get these last bits done? Thanks. Malcolm.
Sir thsnk you for your support i really like this rom ,i have issue when i want to use the the screen will not work i have to reast the device then it work. Please your advice Thanks
I am not sure why that would be the case. I never ran into that issue. Perhaps reflashing the rom or pulling the latest version down would help. I ended up going back to stock rom as I sold my SD1 to make room for another device.
Use case #1 recommending to that one friend who somehow breaks everything. Like his Microsoft g3 gaming laptop that spends 95% of its life completely stationary and plugged into a monitor. How did the hinge for the screen break? The world may never know
Casing was 3d printed by @nza420. I now have a 3d printer and have printed another case. cost to print the case is almost nothing but time. Beepy with a Raspberry Pi is 80.00 I believe.
@@ReviewsforNerds Considering that this $80 machine runs Linux on a Pi Zero I can use it as a sequencer for my synths. Which is what I do now w/ my Pi Zero. Well, if it runs your average basic Linux distro (read: with ALSA and a command line interface), that is. The price is nice, but I have a sneakin' suspicion that shipping and VAT to Europe is gonna add considerably to the costs. But this is a really nice gadget. When/if they get back in stock I might buy me one. Thanks for the info! 🙂
I remember back in 2003 or so, a co-worker got some sort of palm-esque device for his birthday.. Let's just say he was taking "extended" restroom breaks for a couple weeks.
Do you know if it would be able to run another OS ? So my dream is to have messaging apps like signal and whatsapp on it and be able to use it as a phone.
To my knowledge it will run anything text based a raspberry pi could handle. There are people who are setting it up to run pumpkinOS which is a Palm pilot like software. I have tinkered with it just need to figure out how to install apps
Great video. I had a Palm 7 from the late 1990s. Was once stranded in Houston due to weather but was able to use its data capability to find to Official Airline Guide on line, found an alternate flight, and was on my way. It's something we take for granted now but back in the day it was sort of magical.
That's an amazing story! I think my coolest story is when I read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on a Sony Clie and it made the book just the more magical.
has anyone figured out a way to add a DAC and headphone jack? the only similar device I'm aware of with a headphone jack is the clockworkpi uconsole, but that's way bigger.
While some of that would depend on the network, I have had very little issues with calls (Mint Mobile). The only time I had an issue was in a notoriously bad reception area after a tornado.
It’s really good, 5400 mA hour battery and fully charges in about 30 mins (if using the one plus charger). Should last you the whole day and more no problem
@@ReviewsforNerds I think I am more likely to get an M5stack Cardputer first and extend the base firmware to enable side-loading custom programs with a standardized and easy-to-use interface. Partly because the Beepy is not currently available, but partly because the Cardputer is much cheaper.
