I be just discovered this game and am really enjoying it. Thanks for these tier lists! Question- where are you finding mounted figures for the Fiefdom leaders? Imrahil is easy of course, but I can only find dismounted versions of the rest.
@@Guardiansofwiltshire Can totally relate to that! I don't know about you but as I get older time seems to move twice as fast haha.. before you know it the years gone! Cool to hear you're still about though mate, your vids were cool :)
@@Skunkwerx yeah it’s got a lot quicker the last 2/3 years 😂 Cheers man, if I get time in the future I’d like to come back to them. But I’ll have to find the time somehow 🤞
I've picked up about a dozen gondor siege crew, some are clean and some have been chopped off hands, so ripe for this sort off thing! Clearly wasn't the first person with this idea
Looks great dude, cracking combination of 3D prints and salvaging old models - looks awesome! I'm still lagging tragically behind, working on mine as I watch all the finished ones! Damian
Thanks man! It’s a great way of getting modes onto the table that are broken. You have done a lot of work on yours so I don’t blame you, also life is life. I am very much looking forward to seeing your results too!
This is showing me that there is quite a bit of know how involved with the printing and great to see those old unloved models brought out of their forced retirement and given new life. Looks awesome mate 🙂
There definitely can be, I started out with resin printing so it’s what I am most comfortable with but improving skills all the time is a really good thing to do 😁 I have a fair amount of broken models so using them was the perfect opportunity.
So much effort went into this!! But well worth it. the results are fantastic. Definitely worth while chopping through the print, the ruins frame the minis really nicely. Thanks again for the invite and for organising. it was great fun!
It’s what I tend to do 😂 I am an engineer by degree so 3D modelling and stuff like that I love so this was a pleasure, the time frame wasn’t, but the doing of it was! Not a problem, so glad to have you on board and your video made me smile so much!!
Nice work, looks awesome! Is there a way i Can get hold of those stl files for the weapons and shield? And maybe a now? :) Or what program did u use so i Can try to make my own :)
As a lover of all things display base shaped this really warmed my heart. I love what you did with the ruins and fitting the bases into it like that is a really cracking idea. In terms of the paint scene I feel like you missed a trick a bit in not keeping the figures to an almost completely desaturated grey scale appearance. The brown wood and the bright gold details are very saturated colours and the brown especially really sticks out as a bright focal colour which doesn't feel like what you were trying to achieve in a gritty piece like this. Limiting yourself to blacks, whites and greys could have got you thinking about textures and volumes a lot more and really pushed the box on what you could have achieved
Thanks, it’s something I would want to do with any display board I make and with my skills getting better with slicing it was something I really wanted to work. I get what you mean and I think if I could go back I would put a wash over the wooden parts just to drop them slightly. But I wanted some parts to pop and for the models to not get lost in the greys so the brown helps them stand out a bit more. Thanks for the feedback though 😁
@@Guardiansofwiltshire you're welcome. I totally agree that having the accent colour was necessary to make them stand out a bit, and to be fair, given the brief of black and white, that's actually probably the best place for it. Thanks for taking my feedback in the constructive way it was meant 😊 (Oh and you totally nailed it with the slicing)
@@ccrooper88 I couldn’t think of anywhere else to put it which was probably the main thing 😂 that’s no worries, I am always trying to improve so constructive feedback is always welcome!
Your minitures always look amazing, and these ones are no exception. Hoping from next year, i am a back in the community painting, competing and showing my uniqueness.
This is great dude - I love all the 3D printed bits, they really make the models and display board your own. Thanks for organising this for us all, it's awesome to see everyone's hard work revealed!
Fantastic work, love the display and making a few subtle conversions makes such a difference. Never played battle companies but this might be the push needed to suggest it to the gaming group.
That display board looks fantastic and I love the extra bits you’ve added to your broken models. This is prime 3D printing! Thanks so much for inviting me to be involved as well - can’t wait to post mine up tomorrow!
Love the magnetic terrain display that's such an awsome idea. The small details really bring it to life. The minis are stunning too. Brave mam doing black and white always hard colours for me. For black armour on my balrog I just left it black and gave it a gloss varnish.
The magnets were something I’ve wanted to try for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. Black and white weren’t my choice but actually really enjoyed trying to get a quick scheme painted but still look good.
Cracking work on these!! 😍😍 love the video, love the challenge and thank you so much for letting me be a part of it!! 🥰 hopefully one day your Osgiliath and my Angmar Battle Companies can meet on a battlefield!
Without working it all out, it’d be something like: Gothmog (Warg, shield) Guritz Goroth Zagdush Shaman Catapult Fill with Morannons including a banner or two. Possibly take the enforcer too.
Coming to the end of catching up with this livestream and the conversation re: tournament game recording. As I always use a printed A4 sheet with my army and all their rules, I’ve added boxes at the top to record tournament, game #, scenario, opponent’s name, their army and final score. And if there were any ‘moments’ or ‘learnings’ (always the latter 😊) I jot those down too. Then I try and find some time in the subsequent couple of days to reflect. Helps too that I do brief Mssngr updates to home.
I’d seen a few posts re: MTO Easterlings casting issues but mine looked OK. Hopefully they’ll come out of their box at some point this year. I too was surprised how quickly they arrived.
“What Lies Beneath” (Harrison/Pfeiffer) was only a 15 but I watched it on video and had to pause every so often to get my heart beat back to something like normal!!!
49 min mark - possible topic to chew over? Should any of the 18 scenarios have slight rule variations depending on point levels? Or is that getting too fiddly?
Couldn’t make the livestream sadly; first appearance at gamesclub in a long time playing Ziggy at Hold Ground which funnily enough was a much discussed scenario at the 40 min mark; my sense is that getting to the middle first and being able to be a barrier can often be key, so my troll drummer really helped.
