Never regarded Jeremy Brett's Sherlock as anything special. Perhaps because it had become so iconic and set the standard, it just seemed.... standard. For me surprisingly, Jonny Lee Miller's iteration was the best and significantly more multi-faceted. Of course, he had the albatross, lovely as she may be, of Lucy Liu, dragging him down as Watson.

As much as I admire Jeremy Brett, and know that there will never be a better Holmes, it should not be forgotten that much of the wonder in these scenes is down to the incomparable writing of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which has sat on the pages for over a century, waiting for someone as brilliant as Brett to bring it to life.

You know what? I talked to some doctor online. He said: "Did you see the remains of Edward IV on the pictures from the 19th century, when they opened this tomb?" I was like: "Yeah, I was surprised that there was still meat on them, as if he was mummified. Maybe he was embalmed so well that he did not decay." And he said: "No, embalment meant to keep the body from stinking and decaying fast before it was put in the crypt. He would have been just dry bones now. But he isn´t - centuries later." I was like: "Yeah, that´s weird." He was like: "Do you know what is it the sign of..?" I said: "No." He said: "That´s TYPICAL for on-going, slow arsenic poisoning." I asked: "Are you sure?" He said: "Nothing else does this. I am absolutely sure. Somebody was slowly poisoning Edward, and it wasn´t Elizabeth Woodville because it was in her own interest to keep him on the throne and protect herself and their own kids from their many enemies." I aid: "Was it Richard III?" He said: "It could have been, if he really wanted to be the king so much, but he was always fiercely loyal to his brother, even when it was to his detriment, like in 1460, when Richard and Edward were forced to run to exile in the Low Countries. He could have killed Edward many times before and hadn´t done it before Edward died, so it couldn´t have been him." I said: "Who could have done it?:" He said: "You don´t know? Seriously, you don´t know? Who was the king after Edward?" I said: "Richard." He said: "No. Richard III was just an accident. He truly meant to become the Protector but the Woodvilles f*cked him over, so he viewed them as a threat and the little boys as people who could potentially have him executed in the Tower, so he became the king himself. No one did not expect Richard III to ever ascend the throne. It was hasty and he did not think this true, whether he killed the boys or not." I said: "Do you think it was Margaret Beaufort, Lord Stanley or Henry Tudor, then?" He said: "Not Henry Tudor, but somebody MUST HAVE acted in his "name" to put him on the throne. Then Richard jumped on the throne and the plan to put Henry VII on the throne had to be postponed. So it must have been Stanley or Beaufort. HENCE EDWARD´S SURPRISE FATAL ILLNESS." My jaws dropped. It seemed wild... but it kinda makes sense, let´s be honest.

Love this take, as it WAS a v. sudden, unexpected death, given even with his weight gain etc. he'd been such a strong king previously... You saw him on the opposite side of the battlefield and had to hope you had your affairs in order 😅 And then BAM! Dead of a 'chill' so suddenly? And YES, in my play, I pose that Richard NEVER foresaw himself being king... It just doesn't fit with who he was before! And that's REALLY interesting about the remains... Currently downloading so many theories for the full length play. Thank you!

Nice interpretation. The politics of the situation were (as always) far more complicated than the simple story we hear. Given what a monster Henry VII turned out to be, I'm in the "Henry Tudor killed the princes" camp. If Edward V was still alive, Henry Tudor's claim to the throne was even more precarious. Motive.
@LexiWolfeactress
@LexiWolfeactress 16 дней назад
I'm not firmly in that camp, but if I had to choose between him and Richard, he does indeed have far more motive, as you say... Also, he and his family didn't actually prove themselves to be 'stable, kind' folk, did they...? 😅
@ethanmckinney203
@ethanmckinney203 16 дней назад
@LexiWolfeactress Yeah, I read an academic history of the second half of Henry VII's reign. There's a reason I used the word "monster." Henry VIII was relatively laid back, by comparison, but he wasn't a very good king. His father trained Arthur to be king and let Henry run wild. So Henry becomes king, engages in pointless wars, and bankrupt the country. Yay, him.

I know exactly what you mean about the pulses. 100%, the most incredible and instant manifestation I got occurred basically after a really big pulse like that. It felt like something welled up inside of me and then shot out to go do what I wanted. It reminded me of the bible, where it describes Jesus felt "power go out from him" in response to the woman who sought healing. ♥

Jeremy Brett - Best Ever Sherlock Holmes Quotes (Season One). 5.2.24. Jez Brett looks like emits pellets on occasion, now and again...and I do know, sartorially speaking, Holmes and Watson are there to be wondered at. They knock spots off anyone else in the chap stakes. Both brow beating intellectual thugs. Watson the more dumbfounded of the pair. An odd couple. Holmes wanders aimlessly around, thinking up witty profanities, jacking up, writing vile odious pornographic tracts. Whilst Watson solves the crimes the rank junkie takes all the credit. Such is life............

Shakespear did not write anything he was just a ghost writer for Sir Francis Bacon. Bacon was the son of Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth was secretly married to Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, who fathered Bacon and Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, the latter ruthlessly executed by his own mother in 1601. Bacon was the true heir to the throne of England, but had been excluded from his rightful place. This tragic life story was the secret hidden in the plays.

I come to warn everybody, I practiced the Law of Attraction. This knowledge has been around since Eve first bit the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden. Egypt practiced this magick, and they were destroyed. Babylon practiced this magick, and they were destroyed. Satan will give us everything we want, I've experienced it! Our wills are sinful, but God wants to show us how to live through His will! He knows us more than we even know us, trust in Him! He will NOT dissappoint you!

Sherwood Homes and Doctor Weston are a great team and I respect them like they're 2 rival anti-popes in love with Jesus at the same time. I have a swollen toe that's infected from picking my nose with it on my boat when I was stuck in a backed-up river where river-life is dangerously remote. I would live in the woods on raw monkey-meat for 50 years to make you happy. 50 years is a long time Pola my Dear, especially when there are no monkeys around here. What do want to do now? I wanna borrow money from a bank and never pay it back. I wanna feel the sexy thrill of non-lesbian love from my knees to my love-canal crack. I wanna drive a car that has no brakes across raging rivers and flooded lakes. I wanna dive into your pool like a woman with no clothes on; like a chick whose easily conned; like a Dutch dyke who swims in a pond.
