Mocha ware is more than just shown here. It is multi-colored banding and other techniques as well.

Hypnotic, watching this in slow motion with the music. Are your thrown pots frost resistant by chance? The only clay available to me locally that can withstand our winters have about 30% grog and can't be thrown with unless you don't want fingerprints. I'm not experienced in ceramics enough to formulate my own clay so just trying to find some information about it from more experienced potters.

Hi Tony Really enjoyed meeting you at the Swindon Bonsai show this year and it was a great opportunity to see some of your pots. I have made a few more pots since then and am about to do another coil build, so just refreshing my memory. All the best.

Hello Tony, for the crescent pot where you applied the ring foot, did you also add a little opening ore more at the bottom of the food for water to evacuate?

Hi Alexi I’ve been potting for 47 years or so. I trained as a domestic potter making household pottery tea pots, plates mug jugs that sort of stuff. I’ve been a bonsai potter for 15 of those years.

@@tonyremington3607 Oh my god)) It's a great great experience. It's really cool that you share your experience so easily. I have never done pottery but would like to make a bonsai pot. Perhaps this is what I could do the rest of my life - I need to check it out. What shape and size would you recommend to start with?

Start with something not too big and not too complicated a shape, good luck with it.

where do i get this sort of clay and do you have to burn the pot after ?? or is it enough to try by air

Hi Lucas the clay is a high fired stoneware. I buy it from a local stockist in the uk, but similar clays are available worldwide I think.

Great video teacher, is this brown liquid that you apply with a brush, is it a clayey liquid with water?
@tonyremington3607
@tonyremington3607 2 года назад
Yes it’s a slurry made from the same clay I used to build the pot it works as an adhesive.

Very interesting Tony, I'm starting to do my own pots and I'm liking too much the world of clay. I saw in other videos you use an extruder to make your slabs, but do you make your own dies for the extruder or you buy them? I'm looking to buy an extruder for me but I'm not sure wich one should I choose, any recommendations? Keep it up with the channel, it rocks.
