When contemporary influences expand country music’s parameters, you’ll hear, “country music ain’t like it used to be” as a common refrain. But 25-year-old Zach Top is reviving the spirit of ‘90s traditionalists like George Strait, Keith Whitley, and Randy Travis with classic vibes that evoke the dancehalls of Texas, the roar of the rodeo, and jukebox ballads with a cold beer in hand. There’s nothing more current than old-school country to Zach, who grew up on a ranch in Sunnyside, Washington.
Honky-Tonk dreams took him to Nashville in 2021, where he secured a crucial publishing deal with Bob Doyle’s Major Bob Music. Since the move, he has established himself as an artist to watch, being asked to perform at the Grand Ole Opry several times, where he debuted his first country single, “Cold Beer & Country Music,” on the historic stage.
I burn with desire each time my heart fans the fire To that old flame that burns inside of me She cried when I left her, now I cry to forget her Oh, how foolish I was to ever want to leave 'Cause nobody in his right mind would've left her I had to be crazy to say goodbye Nobody in his right mind would've left her Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind I still carry her picture; I wish her well With the new love I know she's found by now Each night finds me dreamin', each day I spend thinkin' How much I wish she was still around 'Cause nobody in his right mind would've left her I had to be crazy to say goodbye Nobody in his right mind would've left her Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind

Love his style of country! Seen him open up for Dwight Yokum at Harrah’s Cherokee casino, they both put on a hell of a show!! 90’s country was awesome!
Wow! I just heard it the other day! Great song! I hope it’s in karaoke. If so I’ll add it to my karaoke list to sing at the American Legion post 132 in Orange CA next Tuesday!❤🎉
