Bro thank you I came from listening to “professionals” in math and seen this video you explained everything so much better and easier to understand than them
@@shakproot thanks man was overthinking that a lot really nervous because I’m going in as a deer in headlights without a clue but hopefully it goes well thanks for the tips!
@@DETAIL_DIRECT try to do the best you can on the aptitude test, aswell as the interview, but I believe my aptitude test score, which I never got but thought the tests were super easy, I believe my score is the reason I started out as a 1st apprentice instead of a pre-apprentice. Getting in as a pre-apprentice is great but it is definitely not as great as just starting out as a first year apprentice. So my advice is do the best you can, but to also be prepared for what the outcome is. Getting in as a pre apprentice is still very worth it.
@@shakproot got u yeah that’s kinda of what I’m focusing on right now only have algebra one from highschool but will be studying up scheduled to test Nov 18th working on those interview questions as well I saw on your other video I guess we’ll see how it goes then congrats on getting accepted btw
@@nannerspank I'm currently at work rn, it's going great, better than any other job I've had, along with more stress than I've ever had. Most days are good days though
When I applied for the apprenticeship in FL, I had to turn a certificate proof that I did algebra for a year. They gave me a paper on where I must go online in order to do the courses. There are 12+ courses in total with 25 lessons then a unit exam towards the end. You have to score 75% above with two chances if you fail you have to pay for it again and start all over. When I turned in my certificate and scheduled an appointment for the entry exam NOTHING I studied for or taught myself was in the Aptitude Exam
I did college classes for the reinterview and got in from that, I don't think I obtained any certificates from the college classes. If you're trying to get a reinterview just follow through with getting it because they appreciate the people that come in for a reinterview showing their determination to get in
Thanks for the video man. I have to relearn math on a 2 week notice for the aptitude test and this video made relearning math feel a lot less intimidating.
@@AHM0NSTER I'll be honest and say some questions I was not ready for because these guides never mentioned them. I don't think I did great but I still passed and will interview this month.
@@User-hv2sz I have my test scheduled for this sept 18 and my math knowledge is at 2nd grade level lol im studying as much as i can until then see where it gets me. btw wishing you nothing but the best ♥
But that was my 2nd time interviewing when I got accepted, I didn't hear anything back after my first interview in april 2022 so I took college classes and reinterviewed in april 2023
Thanks for the response! I interviewed in April and I still haven’t heard anything back. Did a follow up call last week and they said they are running behind schedule but they will email you whether you got accepted or not. So technically I guess I’m still in the running?
just got accepted into local 136, and this video was the closest thing I could find to being exactly like the test. I was never good at math but ended up scoring 8/9 after watching this video and practicing the problems shown.
I wouldn’t say that the math is difficult but it’s difficult enough to review. However, everyone is different and we all experience the process differently. I mean, there are people who dropped out of HS who are electricians.
Hey man how’s it going. I got a question in regarding the recieving the email. I just checked through my jatc website, it said I got accepted around march 11th but the email apparently it was sent to was different from what mine. So I’m curious if that means I’m not in anymore or do I still have a chance to accept since it seems to be an error on their part? I never recieved mail, email, or even a phone call. Only on the jatc website is where I saw the acceptance letter so I’m worried that I’m not accepted. I’m calling them on Monday but let me know on what your thoughts it could be.
@@shakproot Thank you. Yeah I found it extremely weird. Did you ever receive a phone call or was it just an email? Ill keep it updated here in case anyone has this type of experience since I tried looking online and no one seems to have had this problem.
Thanks for your video. My aptitude test is on the 25th for local 124! Just a quick question, did you see Any compound interest questions? like for example, job has 5$ in a bank. if he has a interest rate of 5%, how much money will he have in 3 years? Thanks for your help!
@@josiahcarter2474 I'm gonna say no on converting percentages into fractions, but I don't fully remember. I would say just study that a tiny bit just in case
Where are you at with this? It's disappointing to see the trades pass over guys willing to work. I am a hiring manager for a large company and can never find good help with work ethic. Then I see stuff like this and wonder what's up with these companies.
I am currently in IBEW working through North Kansas City Electric, it's been great so far and I'm definitely glad I tried to get in a 2nd time. Determination shows is what they told me when they accepted me.
Well done. My son starts with Capital Electric tomorrow and swears in Wed. I'd much rather see the youth of America join the trades and build this country up, than go to college and emass a huge debt and burden the taxpayers. Y'all will be in 6 figures in 5 years.
Quick question. For problem #3, do you have numbers that replace those letters or is that how they appear. Example: m=sl+n / q Solve for q … Is there numbers involved or is that formulas you have to be aware of to understand and resolve
