Hey Tiffany. I want to be the best marketing strategist in the retreat business. I have experience with email sequence, followup, and client acquisition and a lot of knowledge of facebook ads. Can we hop on a call I have some questions for you I would like to discuss. Thank you:)
Hey Tiffany, i have been binge watching your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make this content! In trying to conceptualize how i am going to set up my retreat site - im coming up with one issue i have yet to solve. The sales button that leads to stripe is good, but there is no safeguard from people overbooking. Lets say i have 2 or 3 different retreats in a month, with 6 spots available for each retreat, how would I structure that via something like a calendar perhaps, like you see on the major booking websites like airbnb?
Thank you for your question! To help you manage your retreat bookings, you'll need a booking system that comes with a calendar and allows you to set the number of spaces available for each retreat. There are quite a lot of booking systems available out there depending on what you're website is built with. If you're using WordPress, for example, there are many plugins that you can use.
I see, so basically, it will hide all the newsfeed, based on the amount of time you set it for. Or, it will hide it forever. I am trying to find a plugin or extension, that can only filter out specific groups you joined, and only allow users to follow the ones which they are most interested in.
It depends on a lot of factors. Such as: - what the offer is (what kind of retreat) - your target market (do they prefer shorter or longer retreats) It's important to do your research by literally asking them their preferences. If it's your first retreat a shorter one could be a good trial as it's lower cost and "easier" to organise. Tell me more about your retreat and what stage you're at and I can be a bit more specific. Great question by the way!
Good question! Have you done other work such as coaching or other services that you could collect from? Running a retreat is a personal experience between the host and the guests. So testimonials about you and your work will also add value.
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos! They really help!! I’m wondering what you recommend for an email marketing system? Mailchimp? fodesk? Etc. Which one do you feel is best to start an email campaign for a wellness retreat? Thank you!
I've been using Mailerlite for years and have recommended it to many of my clients. It is free for up to 1000 subscribers and pretty easy to use. I've also used both Mailchimp and Flodesk. Flodesk is great if you want pretty emails but their customisation is limited. You also pay a flat fee regardless of the size of you email list. Mailchimp in my opinion used to be great but they have developed it further and I have found it to not be as user friendly.
Wow Tiffany you are amazing ! I hope to build the skillset and strategies to help Transformational Retreat Centers fill their schedules with Ideal Clients (Ayahuasca and various other Entheogenic Retreats) I will keep learning so keep the content coming. Thanks!
Hi there, I already had data in my analytics account, I blocked the website but I still see my own data in analytics. For example, I see that I spend 15 minutes on a page, and it is still there. Hope you can help me
I love this content! I had a developer create my website, but now it’s time for me to understand how to create content myself through an email provider. I currently have webmail. Did you start with your RU-vid channel first?
Great to hear! Yes I start creating content for RU-vid, then add it to my blog on my website and send it out to my email list. I use Mailerlite to send out emails not my own email provider like webmail. This is because you need to adhere to anti spam acts otherwise your domain can be blacklisted.
Hi, Tiffany! My wife and I are currently in the process of launching our first retreat along with another friend/colleague of ours. We currently have a fairly decent sized network between the 3 of us, however I was curious to your thoughts with regards to social media promoting. More specifically with Facebook and Instagram. Do you find them to be effective tools on their own? Would you recommend using paid advertising in any capacity on any social media platform? Other than our own time we haven't paid for any advertising to this point and we're still on the fence as to whether we will pursue that avenue or not. Great videos!
That is so exciting! Organic posting on social media such as Facebook and Instagram is one of the tools you can use to build your content and generate awareness. But know that you'll be at the mercy of the algorithms with some people achieving less that 1% of engagement (latest info from one of my clients with 9000 followers). What we have seen is that posting on social media used to be enough to reach new people and keep them engaged, however, this year (2023) has seen a big shift as it does not seem to be working as effectively anymore. Re social ads, if you have the budget then it is worth experimenting with but know that people on social media might not necessarily be searching for a retreat, it might not even be on their radar - they are referred to a cold audience. I would suggest advertising on social platforms to get people to sign up to your email list (via a lead magnet) and then ensure you have a good engagement strategy to back it up.
What did you decide and what work would you please share what marketing type of tools you did Facebook other groups that you joined or paid services online? Also, what kind of retreats are you planning if you’d like to share in what city is mainly??
What if we didn't lead any retreats before? What if we don't have a mail list? What if we are using our socials to promote our online business which is different than the retreat (e.g. - I am a spiritual business coach organizing a wellness retreat). People who follow me are interested in enhancing their life as business owners and not necessarily into luxurious retreats per sei.
Great questions! If it's the first time running retreats you'll need to lean into your network as much as possible. Depending on who the retreat is for, have a think about how you can reach them. e.g. If your retreat is for people coming out of divorce perhaps you know some lawyers in your network that deal with divorce cases. They would be able to spread the word to your ideal clients. Word of mouth at this stage will be your strongest source of bookings until you have built your mailing list and following. Super important is knowing who your retreat is for...and it will not be for everyone. Be as specific as possible. Hope this helps!
@@retreatmarketingschool Hi Tiffany! So many;)... although you cover a lot of them in your fantastic videos. I am working on progressively integrating a lot of the advice. I think IG FB ads is another big one. Not boosted posts but real ads. Although I think they've made is such that you need outside help on that! I would love to be off social altogether (as per another of your videos!) but not realistic at the moment. I have also sent you a PM via your chat application as well.
@@JenniferRuiz-p9p Brilliant! yes social ads is quite a big topic and it is on my list of things to cover in upcoming videos. Thanks for the nudge :) I'll answer your message now xx

Thank you Tiffany for this precise video. I have added the Eradicator to my FB newsfeed and it's working like a charm. I added it earlier today and I removed it as i wasn't sure what to do with it. That's what led me to "how does the Facebook Eradicator work" and and found YOU! Thank you. You just got a new subscriber! 😊
Interesting Tiffany, I am sure many many of us have had the same thoughts, especially the social media consuming us completely! The thing that I am thinking about after watching your video is the conclusion about the traffic, you mentioned that there is little traffic from social media. I wonder whether that means that social media doesn't contribute to your sales though. What I've seen is that my traffic comes mainly from google and pinterest. BUT before people buy, they first interact with me on social media. And then they send me a message of some sorts and often even completely bypass my website when buying. So if I'd conclude that I should focus only on google and pinterest, I'd delete part of the customer journey, which is currently social media. What are your thoughts about this? Enjoy being off social meda, I am sure it will bring a ton of freedom!
Hi Pauline, interesting thoughts and yes completely valid! What I found in my business, is that I was getting little traffic from social media vs the amount of energy I was putting in. It just wasn't viable for me anymore. The majority of my clients come from word of mouth, they visit my website and then book a call with me. I have also found the more I focus on 1 platform (in this case RU-vid), the more conversations I have with followers, I am reaching people who I would not have reached before and I find they are more connected and engaged. Also, due to video being more impactful. One huge change is the increased mental capacity I have now that I am off social media. Both for my business strategy and ideas but also in my personal life! So far I am loving it :)
