Nice driving, have you switched over to the Miata moving forward or still running the BMW? Also I saw your seat install video, what seat are you running now and do you drive it on the street at all?
@@AndrewJamesL4 Thanks! Yep, I sold the BMW and am all in on the Miata. I’m still using the Sparco Sprint. I did install a 5 point harness and get a HANS device for the track. I do occasionally drive the car on the street but not for work, just weekend coffee run type things.
Hi man,i have a question...where is possible to buy the base seat? Because i have a mx5 ND and i would to install the sparco QRT R bucked seat but i have no idea where is possible to buy the base seat for fixing the seat to chassis
Hey; I am planning to run the lap belt buckle in a similar way as you; do you have any issues threading and clipping the belt into the buckle, is it not too tight to squeeze your hand through the lap hole? I am currently running the buckle over the top; the belt is tight-ish on the lap, but leaves a small gap - likely not being overly safe.
Yes. I had a similar problem. On the street I mostly ran it on the outside of the seat. For track I would thread it through the hole in the seat, then buckle it. It was a tight squeeze but doable. It probably was safest for protecting my gut in a crash but somewhat dangerous. I don't think a safety worker would be very quick at getting me out if I were unconscious and the car was on fire. (very unlikely, but still). Since I posted this I actually took the 3 point out and switched to a 5 point so I can run a HANS device.
@evan_off_track I sold the car, but since my comment, I managed to fit the factory pretensioner behind the bucket seat at such distance that the belt was going through the hole nicely. Nevertheless, Sparco Sprints are super comfy, but I'll stick to factory seats in my new project car until I can't cope with gforces anymore haha
Hey mate, thanks for the informative video. May I ask, did you need to hammer out the trans tunnel to make the seat fit? And 2nd question, does the seat contact the door when you close it?
Awesome, my pci brackets arrived today. I’ve got the newer sprints, my last question is what size bolts did you use that mounts the seat to the side brackets? That’s all I need left and I’m good to go!
Nope. Have this too and it’s the 2015 1.0. This is the Performance Bike LE version. You can see 1.0 on the frame in this video on top tube toward seat.
