My name is Destini and here, you'll find all things lifestyle, entrepreneurship and curly hair related. I am a nurse turned curly hair specialist who runs and operate my curly hair care brand DES Hair Care.
When I am not educating or serving clients, I spend my time exploring my new city. I am super focused on becoming the best version of myself and want to share my journey with all my friends and family back home in Montreal.
This texture is very voluminous, but this is how the client wanted it. My concern lays in her hair health and her ability to maintain her hair at home. I ensured the extension weight to natural hair ratio is healthy and she has a set curl care routine that she can follow at home and I am happy with that. But for me personally, this would be too much hair as well. To each their own!
Can you do a more in depth video, like for thick hair vs thin. How to know how many rows. Can you add k tips to the top of the scalp and how to make it not too tight or hurt the clients head.
That is not a protective style. Why do you hair people always say that? That is the worst thing I can do to my hair. Those plastic strands literally shreds my hair. Every year or two when I get the idea to put in braids, it is always out 3 weeks later and my hair is not tightly done. When they are removed my hair is a mess for weeks because it’s as if those fake strands saw through my hair. My hair is always natural. No creams no heat used, never straightened.
Thats so interesting. It's very possible that your hair is fragile and cannot tolerate the added weight or material of the extensions. But, many women opt for braids or other extensions style in order to tuck their natural hair away. Its always a balance between style and hair health. Some people go to the extreme where there is no balance at all at the expense of their natural hair. Others, like yourself ,decide nope! Not for me and my curls.
Could you do a maintenance video? Maybe with tips and tricks for wearing and washing after you’ve left the salon? How to go about wearing the hair in different states, suggested products and application of products to avoid any mishaps while wearing the style. I’m seriously considering this style as a birthday gift for myself and I’m finding it difficult to find up to date videos.
Thanks so much! K-tips are the only install method where the extensions cannot be reused. Once the keratin tip is activated and removed, it cannot be reactivated.
