Had it done a few days ago. The doc said that it’ll feel like bad cramping. In reality it was a bit sharper. It felt different than menstrual cramping. She ended up getting a couple of samples. The first one wasn’t so bad, but the second one I said “ow”. I could see how it would be very painful for some people. It was 5-10 minutes overall. I felt that same weird cramping for several hours afterwards, but a heating pad and walking/activity helped.
I had this done week before last. Had a gyno appointment and he just decided to do it as well as a smear (had two failed smear tests at my doctors due to pain). Wasn’t that bad, quite uncomfortable but not unbearable. i just hummed to distract myself. Little bit of cramping but was fine by the time i got back to the car. Didn’t need any painkillers.
I took 880mg of naproxen about 1.5 hours before mine and it was very uncomfortable but I wouldn’t say painful. I’m good with pain except in that region of the body. I also put voltaren gel topically in my abdomen which was probably more mental than anything but whatever. Hopefully that helps someone that was as freaked out as I was 😂
I’m soooo glad I did not let these comments scare me out of getting it. 😂 I am the biggest baby and the pain was literally a 2-3. I do have children, and I am at the end of my menses and only took ibuprofen beforehand. Being at the end of my cylce probably helped. You can lightly bleed, but not full on because the blood would ruin the sample. This hurted no where near as bad as these comments make it seem, but that’s MY experience. There was slight cramping maybe for 15 minutes afterwards, but that was it. Collecting the sample took less than 3 minutes.
Wow, watching them melt away within 48 hours felt so good, and yes, I used what I mentioned the other day. It actually took a bit more to make them totally disappear, I just go’ogled Melissa Thanderski and the pain was no more.

I'm having a biopsy done today in office 8/20/24, was told to take a 800mg ibuprofen an hour before procedure. I'm 38 years old, had two kids via c-section, and have irregular periods. Well for the past two years now I have had periods in-between periods (like spotting or light bleeding that's red or pink), and my periods are heavy always large clots and deep red, looks like a miscarriage. I had a Ultrasound done last month because of the things I had told my doctor, when she went over the results she said I had a very thick endometrial lining for my age and it was 2.1cm or 21mm, Nabothian cysts in the cervix, no pelvic masses, right ovary 2.4 x 2.1 x 2.0cm and left ovary 4.4 x 3.8 x 2.8cm. They want to do the biopsy because of the lining being thick, as layered tissue that doesn't get removed during menstrual cycle can cause unusual tissue to grow in the lining which can turn cancerous. I read alot of your comments and hope the procedure is tolerable, and I may have to get the other procedure done while anesthetized for a better look at the scenario. Either way they said I may be looking at a hysterectomy of the uterus.
