Another of my favs from this movie----Viper after the 1st HOP: 'Gennn-tle-men..........you had a helluva 1st day' 🤣 As if to say 'OHhhhh, I see YOU 2 are gonna be my class clowns!' LMBO 🤡🤡🤣
What were you doing? Communicating. Keeping up foreign relations. Flipping the bird... you know the finger! Yes I know the finger Goose. I I'm sorry I hate it when it does that.
If I can't shoot the son of a bitch let's see if we can have a little fun with him. Is this your idea of fun Mav? The plaque for the alternates is in the ladies room. Oh ha ha ha Jesus you kill me. No no there's 2 os in Goose. She's lost that loving feeling. She's lo.. no she hasn't. Mav cmon. I hate it when she does that. shit
Original Top Gun was better. TG Maverick is a decent film, but almost no character development. Too many anti-climatic sitting duck kills from off-screen against enemy helicopter and fighter jet. Can only remember 3 characters: Maverick, Rooster, Hangman. The graduates never actually learn anything, except Maverick is too good and they are practically useless except to assist Maverick drop the bomb, which makes most of the movie sort of pointless. Pilots survived crash but no parachute scenes. First movie had better plot, dialogues, characters and pacing. Overall 6.5/10, it's just ok.
Nah gonna have to disagree with you. Sure it could have had this or that, but the pacing would have been sht. It was a 2 hour movie+. I'd have liked to have seen some of that stuff too but you can't have it all.
Not gonna add: “The simple fact is you feel responsible for Goose and you have a confidence problem. Now I’m not gonna sit here and blow sunshine up your ass lieutenant…” -Viper
After watching the new Top Gun movie I was like who the heck is Penny Benjamin. She wasn't in the 1sr movie. Now after rewatching the 1sr one , she was briefly mentioned as being the admirals daughter he hooked up with. Haha.
Yeah I thought there was a connection on hearing that name. Seems that Maverick wasn't sure who she was, or didn't recall her name to the face going off his response to her name being mentioned....
I watched Maverick.. did it say who the father of Penny's daughter was? Wasn't mentioned I dont think. But when Mav tries sneaking out of penny's room down the window like a teenager and her daughter catches him and says dont break my mom's heart again 😢
"Who was covering Cougar while you were showboating with that MiG?" - The older I get, the more I love this film. Iceman immediately nailed the core of Maverick's problem for the film. While we were all dazzled by the inverted stunt and Maverick's escort of Cougar back to the carrier, we miss what Iceman sees immediately: *_Maverick left Cougar without cover._* Maverick is an instinctive pilot and likely the better stick handler, but Iceman is the better analyst and understands the need to work as a team. Ice isn't just a rival; he's one of the few who is willing to look through Maverick's dazzling flying and hit him with the hard truth: unless Maverick learns this lesson, _Maverick is as dangerous to his allies as his enemies._ It's not just that he left his wingman, (twice, if you count both Cougar and Hollywood), it's the attitude underneath pulling that stunt that makes him unsafe/a danger to others. At the end of the film, Maverick is still pulling the same piloting tricks and dazzling flying he did at the start of the film and at Top Gun, but his attitude has finally changed: it's not just that he won't leave his wingman, it's that the lesson finally sunk in that it's not all about him. He's part of a team, they need him, and he needs them, because all their lives are on the line.
Didn't the Stringer say Couger handed in his wings so he is sending those two up to TopGun If so could Couga's panic attacks been avoided had he had the correct team support Things that make you go Hmm...
How are you not going to have when Goose ask for the truck driving school number? Hey Mav do you have the number for that truck driving school, Truck Masters, I think I'm gonna need it.
I want to see a movie made about Mavericks father and the reasons behind his career and death.Maverick felt like he was screwed over as a pilot. Call it TOP GUN:THE VERY BEGINNING!!!!!!!
@@SantomPh No I'm a HISTORY BUFF and I want to know the origins of the Top Gun I was told by a military veteran that some of the instructors at Top Gun were EX TUSKEGEE AIRMEN.
Because he WAS screwed over. Goose has exposition dialogue about how Mav did not attend the Naval Academy because of his fathers reputation, and had Cougar not turned in his wings, he would not have been going to Miramar. It is very subtle, but there is an element of ring banging involved with like ALL of his interactions with Ice, right from the first scene that Ice is in.
@@flappysquirrel5132 I remember the scene where Maverick and Charlie said that his father was screwed over by the Navy because he screwed up on a mission.
