I’m not worried about them picks because they can trade a player and get picks back. If bridges turns up and Randle has another season like last season the Knicks are looking golden
Already sick and tired of Knicks talking bout the damn picks. Ah whole heap ah plastic GMs out deh talking bout picks. Fantasy league GM mindset fe real
Next season isn’t going to be the same as last season. Yea the Nova Knicks are together again but is the power of friendship going to win the chip? Knicks fans act as if it will be exactly like last season and some, the league will be healthy, teams will make changes & who’s to say Brunson is going to average 12 + assist a game. It might be even more dribble dribble dribble and some. We know who’s going to have the ball & all those Nova guys just gonna spot up and shoot.
OG ducked max contracts after the signing of Mikal Bridges. Let that sink in. With that said his minutes needs to be capped between 25-29 minutes during the season. Getting mikal and having a plethora of line ups we can use helps us survive without OG and still be productive for short periods at a time. OG can’t be playing playoff defense for 48 minutes a night in the regular season. That’s where Josh hart comes in, his minutes can easily come from simply staggering OG and Randles minutes at the 3 and 4 in certain line ups. Donte can take I hart off the floor and push Randle to the 5 or take OG off and push mikal to the three
n my opinion we did well by the players who were blessed into this front offices regime (Mitch and Randle) Randle did us a solid and gave us a discount. Mitchell robinson is a glorified back up who fit a situation ( a team who can’t defend the perimeter) and that is no longer the case, but his contact is not indicative of that. Keeping mitch for a one time chance at a chip is charitable, with us needing to sign Hartenstein we can’t afford to be charitable. Mitch is on borrowed time.
For four years we seen first hand that we weren’t using the picks for anything else but to eventually package them for 1 person.. the nets ( because the #1 overall pick isn’t a guarantee, is going to package those picks to get a top 5 lottery pick… those four unprotected picks we traded are going to get passed around like the 51st pick was passed around tonight. It’s the way we chose to build long term sustainable winning . Even transfer.
Mikal was a great trade, our front office finally brought there confusing moves (draft trades and doing moves that put us financially skillfully culture wise full circle and showed moxy finally pulling the trigger , they did right by thibbs giving him everything he needs to unleash his full basketball mind. If thibbs has a full playbook this is the team to actually use it on. The cost 2026 (kiyan Anthony ) 2028 pick swap great pick (nets suck) 2030 we have picks. All the unprotected picks we gave up will be 10-17 picks outside of the lottery. Those picks will be combined / packaged to draft 1 player who will be a lottery pick ( we just bought a veteran player that is better than one lottery pick. So in my eyes we broke even.
All these formulas to arrive at the conclusion that we didn’t over pay is confusing to me. Yes we like the trade, it’ll be good for the team and it will make us better. But YES WE OVERPAID. No other way to spin this.
@@adjae4336 uhhh huh?? No one’s challenging you I answered the questions steph asked the pannel and left my response in her comments for her algorithms take a chill pill
HE WAS THE DEFENDING MVP AND WAS THE LEADER IN MVP RACE WHEN HE GOT HURT. HE WAS AVG LIKE 34 PPG. USING EMBID IS NOT THE CURVE TO GRADE HIM ON SOLELY. IF YOU GOING TO DO THAT I'M GOING TO SAY OK MITCH SHOULD BE SCORING 25 ON TEAMS WITH WEAK CENTERS...
How are we bringing Mitch down? We’re just pointing out what we observe and our opinion. IHart just had a good season but isn’t that how it always starts: 1 good season?
MY NARRATIVE BEEN THE SAME ON MITCH. CAN'T HAVE ONE DIMENSIONAL PLAYERS IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. BECAUSE THE TEAM IS MORE RELEVANT NOW AND YOU HAVE A POTENTIAL REPLACEMENT IT WILL BE A TALKING POINT AT THE MOMENT.
I'm Leting OG TEST FREE AGENCY ,HES NOT WORTH THE R ISK. FOR THAT TYPE OF MONEY. 35 MILLION AND HES NOT HAPPY WITH THAT. NAH THECKNICKS SHOULD LET SOMEONE ELSE PAY HIM 40 MILL . WE CAN FILL HIS VOID FOR LESS FOR THE SAME PLAYER OR BETTER. PG13 IS CHEAPER AND HES A BETTER PLAYER NOT JUST DEFENSIVE MINDED
There are some rumors OG going back to the Raptors...that would be something....OG would have to hire bodyguards anytime he plays in NY... there would be a hit out on him...hell I would like to punch in the nuts a couple hundred times...he would start off the next season on injury list do to bowling balls size balls....if he went back to Toronto..
To me we overate our players u would rather spend money on a non all star that hasn’t prove anything outside of defense..we talk 2k trade McBride Mitch and picks to bring in great players that just wild to me clearly we need to upgrade talent and running it back is not upgrading salute queen much respect
IHart's per 36mins dropped off big in the playoffs & Mitch literally shut down Embiid & won us a playoff series, ya want to blame injuries? okay that means that IHart needs others to perform while Mitch creates his own stats. Is IHart good? Yeah but not against the elite bigs in big games where they have their way against him. What's the point of having a 5 who has 8pts 8 boards & 8 assists if he gives up 40pts to the other 5 & letting the PG Maxey blow past him? Thibs did right by him by starting him w/ his play against weaker teams in the regular season when Mitch was out but defense wins championships & proved this when he came in off the bench. IHart is a wet paperbag out there
we replace OG internally w/ Josh Hart, OG/IHart are actually closer to $60mil in cap space, We have Randle, resign Precious, those are our 4's & get some bigs to help keep Mitchy healthy for playoffs, Trade for Dejounte & get me soem of these FA's K.Lowry, GaryTrentJr,KellyOubreJr,DeRozen,Drummond,AlexLen,RoyceO'Neal,G.Hayward,TJWarren,BolBol & MoBamba on the bench & we gonna be fun, Thibs molding some of these names would be nuts
im good with letting both OG & IHart go, thats over $50mil for 2players who already burned us with our biggest fear of not being healthy when needed & the other is just to small for playoff basketball & got cooked by Embiid, M.Turner/Siakam. There's tons of players proven to be big in big games available those funds can be spread out over - We are finally in a position for good players to come here to win a ring, OG being a diva while others are taking a paycut aint gonna work, again there are quite a few FA's who would fit here nicely, especially after Thibs gets his hands on em.... IQ & Wiseman are RFA's worth taking a shot on too
I agree on og. How's jaylon going to feel with og getting more than he is ? Ihart is taken less money to stay in ny. And hart actually stays pretty healthy. Og does not. . Honestly I rather pay pg13 20 plus mill than og 35 plus. Pg is better than og
When he's on the court hec a Game changer. In his last 3 seasons he's only played about 65 games. There's a reason Toronto moved on from him. They could have resigned him but they got tired of the injuries with this guy. He's known to not be in shape . Let philly overpay him and get fleeced.
@@usalva Nah, he wasn't happy there and I'm sure Toronto didn't want to risk him walking. Plus Toronto was quite happy getting RJ and IQ. OG wanted a bigger role in the offense and wanted out or he'd still be there. 65 games in the last 3 years, wow... didn't know that but I'd take a shot unless I could replace what he brings. I think teams should sign players for much less and include incentives. It's ridiculous the amount of money players sign for and can miss that many games and still get paid.
I heard the Knicks have made an offer to OG; however, it's an offer that OG could not accept because OG is an injury-prone player playing for a coach that has a reputation for getting his best players hurt. If the Knicks wish to retain OG, they need to remove all injury-restriction clauses out of his contract because OG is playing for a coach that believes in the next-man-up philosophy. Furthermore, Knicks's fans have failed to realize and recognize what is the next-man-up philosophy. The next-man-up principle is a football term because it is imperative to have quality players backing up the starters because the risk of major injury is so great, and an injury can devastate a football team’s season. It also entails not being concerned about players’ minutes because when a player goes down, there is a quality backup player ready to replace him. This is not the case in basketball. In basketball, the risk of injury is much lower, the gap between star players and bench players is much greater, and a team’s roster is made up of 15 players, but most coaches only utilize about 9 players. Therefore, it is vitally important that a coach takes care of managing his players' minutes and making a conscious effort to develop a bench and give his starters adequate rest. This is not the case with coach Thibs, and coaches that are capable of winning titles do not rely on the next-man-up philosophy because they know that it is a fallacy.
How are we happy with this season? How did we get farther than last year. We are literally in the same exact place as last year I don’t get it. Y’all keep talking about exceeding expectations smh. This is laughable to me
It was a good season but we always have to get better every year I think we need a Veteran point guard to help Brunson out because McBride isn't a point guard and we need to get our bench better next season
