How lucky can one man get. What a song.

A friend always had a free ticket. I saw john at the newport folk festival from 1990 to 1997. I think he was there every other year. This is such a treasure. Because I always saw him and a guitar and that was it. And that was plenty good. Hearing him now playing with pianos and slide guitars and other guitars. And how much john enjoyed it, you could see. As he was on stage the photographers were trying to take his picture. And he would play hide and seek with them and dodge them and give them a hard time.. he had such a big smile doing that . He was a joy.

Just started listening to this fellow. Very accomplished and talented. Very easy to listen for hours. He must have been a down to earth person. This is all our loss. Just know he made a lot of people happy. How many people can do that. RIP. John

Wttw had such breat programming badk then. I distinctly remember watching this when I was eight. No other artist has meant so much to me for so long. I learned guitar just to play Prine songs.

I heard Prine say he got an unexpected job at a club after singing Sam Stone so he had to go write several more songs. The song about the car accident reminded me of that.
