How can u tell if it’s asbestos ?

I recently moved into a new apartment with Creda storage heaters. There are 2 in the living room. I dont need 2 as its not a huge space and 1 heater does the job well enough. Also, one of them doesnt seem to work. This is OK by me as i want to remove that one anyway, its an eye sore and takes up a decent chunk of important wall space. Do I just get someone to remove the storage heater and cut off the supply? The flat was built after 1999 so im assuming asbestos isnt an issue. How much does that job cost and is there anything else that needs doing?

Was not able to program my electrorad from this video...had a couple of attempts but no joy. For comparison view electrorad company video.....no annoying back-ground Musak (?)why?....no nonsense straightforward and clear.....set up for the week in 5 minutes.

I don’t want to remove it, but to lift it, to place flooring underneath (after pulling the previous flooring out from under it). So, I want to take the bricks out, then put them back in). So, do I need to disconnect the electricity at the wall, or is it enough to turn off the mains electricity for the whole house?

A sparky removed my heater so tradesmen could install flooring. He leaned it against the wall but didn’t remove the bricks. It slipped on to the floor as I tried to shift it and it weighs a ton. Impossible to move.

This is me with new build flat - no one told me there were bricks in them haha - took down 3 flights of stairs, then I learnt. Had meter changed as standard electric was (way back) far cheaper if you are out all day. Heat all gone by evening when I wasnt even in.

Hi there, In regards to the wiring, if you want to convert the socket into a regular plug socket after is there anything fancy you need to do? I read that the wiring needs to be reconfigured as storage heaters are connected to off/on-peak circuits? Is this something that can be done by yourself or do you have to contact your supplier? please advise and thanks!

Good afternoon, fantastic video. I am just about to buy a house (built in the 80s) that has four of these style heaters throughout and I'd like to remove them and replace them with the Haverland RC Wave units. I was just wondering what you would need to do with the cables coming from the wall after removing the old units, as the new Haverland units only require a local plug socket? Kindest regards. Sam

Should stick to the dimplex , the models before their quantum was much better , just keep them on 24 hours and if it gets too hot then just open a window , I’ve got 2 , one in my hall and one in the sitting room, costs penny’s once they’re heated up.

Hi, A couple of questions for you:- My radiator is AF05, 980 x 615 x 90d, 2000watts. so what are the dimensions between the brackets? Your bracket is touching the skirting board, the diagram reads 190mm from the ground and the diagram shows that the clips are fitted at the end of the radiator, is that right or does it really matter
@wandleelectricalservices3433
@wandleelectricalservices3433 3 года назад
Hi Terry, the gap between the brackets can vary the clips just need to line up with the indetation of the flutes. This is quite useful as it means you can fix the brackets to the strongest part of the wall or if its a partition to the timbers. We normally try and have at least 100mm from ground, In the 100's of these heaters I fitted I havent had any problems. We do always rest the bottom of the brackets on the skirting to give additional support, they are very heavy heaters.

About 2 hours work .BUT .you have to tell customers that it’s usually left with two holes in the floor where the legs have been and filling and painting to wall plus old radiator taken to the tip.

@thelondonelectricradiatorc6580
@thelondonelectricradiatorc6580 4 года назад
Hi, thanks for your comment. I would only attempt this if you feel you are competent with electrics. Isolate the power to the circuit serving the heater, undo the spur switch, test that it is isolated, Disconect the power cord from the spur terminals. Screw the spur back to the wall.
