I will never forget the 1st dinner at my freshman orientation in 1977. I had just arrived in New York City that morning on the Greyhound bus from Santa Fe New Mexico. If I remember correctly, they had big long tables back then. The entree was Fried Chicken. When it was time to eat, I was surprised that everyone picked up their knife and forķ. I hesitated and looked up and down the table and discovered that 2 or 3 other students hesitated. As soon as we caught each others eyes, we all simultaneously reached down and picked up the chicken with our hands and started eating. Hey, good fried chicken is supposed to be 'finger lickin good!' I always wondered if this was done deliberately so that on day 1, everyone would know who was who on the socio-economic scale. Please do not do this in the future.
Awww the halal section is small tho :( Wish they just used halal meat for all their regular dishes. Since Columbia is in the city, finding halal meat should not be difficult at all
