Christian is an organic farmer, writer and activist who lives on his small acreage farm in Victoria, Australia. Now, he lives in the burbs and is getting his urban grow on!!
Would be nice to see proper pruning of a real tree not a baby. This tree (needed ) no trimming at this point. I would have put it in the ground or another much larger pot and waited another year at least.
I've been growing citrus for over 50 years and quite honestly I can't believe how you pruned it. I agree with taking most of the fruit off but little lemon trees like that can generally support four or five lemons. I guess everyone has their own idea on how to prune.
I found your channel again!! I used to follow your channel what must be over 10-15 years ago. Back when you had sheep and would get annoyed every time they got out. 😆 I remembered that I thought you looked like Hugh Jackman and were in Australia. Funnily enough, searching for "Australian gardener who looks like Hugh Jackman" didn't bring up any results. 😆 Sad to see it looks like you aren't making videos anymore but I'll subscribe in case you come back. 🙂🙂🙂
Does this dwarf lemon have thorns on the stem or is it a sign that it is the root stock coming up from the bottom. I bought mine several months ago and it is already shooting up with lots of new growth and it’s over a metre high so I’m suspecting it maybe rootstock rather than the authentic lemon itself.
How long does it stink for outside? I've got a terrible neighbor who mowed down protected wetland grass & planted yard grass. I'd like to be helpful & fertilize it for them 😂
I hate my neighbours and do this. When they are having a bbq on the weekend I pour it along our fence line and let it waft over their party. Best part, there’s not a damn thing they can do about it.
Thank you for your video. I have a lemon tree in a 5 gal bucket. It was grown by a friend. I'm located in Honduras. There aren't any good fertilizers nor knowledgeable people around to help me. My tree is a dwarf and I'd like to no transfer it into the ground. It has produced a few lemons but I want to prune it and do something so It grows better. The soil I have the tree in and have access to doesn't look even a fraction as good as yours does. Any advice?
Thanks, I have a 2 year old dwarf in ground. Growing in the desert, I think it's time to give it a good pruning, possibly when it's a little cooler weather. I know I've got big suckers coming up from below the graft. Nice video, thanks..
Got a lot of extended view of the back of your left hand. HINT - videos come out much better if you don't have something in front of the lens blocking the view of the camera.
Great real-time demonstration - thank you just what I wanted! Two more questions... What time of the year is best to prune a dwarf meyer / dwarf lime in Australia (I'm in Sydney)? And how do you know when it's time to re-pot? What do you look for?
